The entry form has been changed to indicate whether the dog needs to be measured. If the dog needs to be measured, it is the handler’s responsibility to ensure that the box on the entry form is checked, and that the dog is measured prior to running. Information Owners are responsible for entering their dog in the proper height division. 4” 8” 12” 16” 20” N/A 11” and under at the withers 14” and under at the withers 18” and under at the withers 22” and under at the withers Over 22” at the withers At owner’s discretion For dogs measuring… Course Familiarization and Warm-Ups o o Handlers in all classes are permitted to walk the course, without a dog, during a walk-through period held prior to the start of the class. The walk-through is restricted to only handlers entered in that class. Handlers with multiple dogs, at events with multiple rings may request to walk with a height group other than the one their dog is entered in if a conflict is imminent. A warm-up area, consisting of a regulation agility jump, shall be provided. The warm-up area is to be used exclusively for warming up the dog and not for training or relieving of the dog. Ribbons, Prizes and Awards Ribbons will be awarded for 1st through 4th place teams in each jump height in each class. Dogs must qualify to receive placement ribbons. Qualifying ribbons will be awarded to all dogs receiving qualifying scores. MACH and PACH ribbons will be awarded for those finishing their championship title. Title ribbons will be awarded to those dogs earning a new title at this event. Double Q ribbons will be awarded to teams qualifying in both runs on the same day for those competing in the Master classes. Confirmations A preliminary confirmation will be sent to the email address on the AKC entry form after your entry has been processed. Please review the information in the confirmation for errors and notify the Trial Secretary of any corrections needed. If you do not have an email address, please send a stamped, self-addressed post card for a preliminary confirmation. Final confirmations and the judging schedule will be sent to the email address on your entry form after the closing date. Final confirmations will be sent via US mail ONLY if an exhibitor does not have an active email address or upon specific request. If the exhibitor has not received the final confirmation within a week of the trial, please contact the Trial Secretary. I answer all correspondence and acknowledge receipt of all moveups and corrections to entries. If you do not get a response from me within two days, please contact me. ENTRIES & CONFIRMATION o o o o Illegible, incomplete or incorrect entries will not be accepted. Sign entry form and submit both sides of form (including agreement). Entries not on official AKC form will not be accepted. Please write legibly! Enclose a stamped postcard when requesting confirmation of entries. Judging schedules, final confirmations and running orders will be sent by email for those with a valid email address. Participants without email will receive a hard copy confirmation via USPS. DOGS ELIGIBLE TO ENTER This trial is open to all dogs 15 months of age or older that are registered with the American Kennel Club or are registerable breeds that have obtained an AKC, ILP or PAL number. Bitches in season, aggressive dogs, blind or deaf dogs, or dogs suffering from any deformity, injury or illness which may affect the dog’s physical or mental performance are ineligible to participate. Mixed breed dogs that have been listed with the AKC Canine Partners may participate provided their listing number has been recorded on the entry form. ENTRY TIPS Please don’t staple your check to the entry form. Use a paper clip to attach it to your entries. Please select class AND jump height AND indicate days entered. Please write legibly (or complete entry on the computer)! Please double check the total due before writing the check Make sure you submit both sides of the form. Your signature is required on the back of the form. Any unsigned entries may not be accepted and must be returned. MOVE-UPS Move-ups prior to trial must be received by 6 pm the Monday before the trial. Moveups will be official only when confirmation is received by the requesting party. For day to day move-ups, the trial secretary must receive your completed move-up form by 15 minutes after close of judging each day. Blank forms will be provided at the trial. Extended Waiting list A waiting list of up to 200 runs per day will be maintained. Per Chapter 1, Section 16.1 of the Regulations for Agility Trials, a “waiting list close date” will be instituted. The “waiting list close” will be 6 pm, Friday January 2, 2015. Full refunds will be given to those exhibitors withdrawing ONLY for the runs that are able to be filled from the waiting list. NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS 1. The safety of the dogs is our primary concern. By entering this trial, exhibitors acknowledge that they are familiar with the rules and regulations of the sport, and that their dogs are familiar with and able to perform all obstacles safely. 2. The trial-giving club, the Trial Secretary, their agents, employees, etc, assume no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by exhibitors, handlers, or to any of their dogs or property and further assumes no responsibility for injury to children. 3. Puppies under 4 months old are prohibited at AKC Agility Trials. 4. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused or barred from competition by the action of the Event Committee. 5. No entry fee will be refunded if the trial cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, and act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, or any other cause beyond the control of the organizing committee. 6. It is expressly understood that exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs and/or children. Any exhibitor whose dogs and/or children create unnecessary disturbances or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior may, at the discretion of the Event Committee, be asked to leave the trial site. In such case, no refund of any fees paid will be made. 7. All dogs must be on a leash at all times except when in the ring or when in the designated agility warm-up area. 8. Bitches in season are not permitted to compete in agility trials. Upon presentation of a veterinarian certificate, total entry fees less $7 per day will be refunded for bitches coming into season after the closing date. This certificate must be presented to the Trial Secretary prior to the start of judging on the first day of the trial or cluster of trials. 9. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Trial Secretary will add a $35 collection fee to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks from the same exhibitor may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY basis. 10. Judges are not required to wait for dogs. Exhibitors are responsible for being at the ring gate when it is their turn to run. 11. Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs. Please help keep the trial site and hotels clean. 12. Exhibitors are responsible for complete, accurate and legible information on their entry forms; illegible or incomplete entries cannot be entered into the trial. All entries must be made on Official AKC Entry Forms or copies and must include the Agreement and Rules and owner’s signature on the back. 13. Running Orders will be emailed to exhibitors prior to the trial, per new AKC regulations. 14. Smoking will not be allowed in the arena area. Morgan County Celebration Arena NOTICE 1. NO ALCOHOL allowed on grounds at any time. 2. No use of tobacco products inside the building. 3. All R.V. and trailers must be R.V. hook-ups. No electric hook-ups will be allowed in barn area. 4. All vehicles must be moved to the main parking lot after unloading. 5. Keep all vehicles off grass areas. 6. Dogs must be kept on a leash while on the show grounds. 7. Crating will be allowed after 5:00 PM on Thursday. The only crating allowed prior to that will be for those helping to set up. 8. All aisles and roadways around the facility must be kept open at all times due to fire regulations. Owners will be asked to move vehicles or will be towed at owner’s expense. 9. Please help us maintain clean facilities and grounds during the trials by placing litter and dog waste in trash receptacles or designated areas. If measured by the Judge of record, that measurement will be valid for this trial or back-to-back trials only. If a measurement is necessary, it is the exhibitor’s responsibility to have their dog(s) measured prior to running. Dogs listed in the AKC Canine Partners ProgramSM may be eligible to enter all-breed AKC agility trials at the club’s option. These dogs should be listed as All American Dog and must include their AKC number on the entry form and check the AKC No. box.
