A lightweight, long-lasting, battery-drive laptop computer for basic word-processing is greatly
advised. Asus is recommended for three-pound, 12-hour battery computers under $400. A
tablet with a Microsoft Word program and a keyboard is also acceptable.

Visual Art Department:
*Students DO NOT need to have their supplies for the first day of school. We will give students two
weeks to purchase materials at the start of the year so that they can take advantage of our supply kit
sales.
*SUPPLY KIT SALES - Kits containing all required materials will be for sale through the vendor, “Artist
and Craftsman Supply” at the start of the next school year. Sales will take place on the MAC campuses
during the Visual Arts Parent Night events at the start of the school year. We will have an option for
parents to purchase by phone if they cannot attend the event. For further information, please email

*Supply Kits Sales are optional. You may choose to purchase materials on your own. If you choose to
do so, please follow the lists below.
6th Grade Visual Arts Materials:
I. Sketchbook: A spiral-bound or book-bound sketchbook, min. 8” x 10”, min. 80 pages.
II. Toolbox: Each student will need a container to store drawing supplies and basic tools. There are
no specific requirements. Please look for some kind of box that is easy to carry and durable. We
highly recommend buying a lock to keep the toolbox secure.
III. Art Materials:

- Drawing Pencils (4 each of “6B” and “2B”)
- Pencil Sharpener
- Eraser
- Colored Pencils (set of at least 24)
- Compressed Charcoal Sticks in Black and White (minimum 4 sticks each)
- Set of Acrylic Paint, Min. tube size. Required Colors: Titanium White, Ivory Black, Cadmium Red,
Cadmium Yellow, Raw Umber, Ultramarine Blue. Optional Advanced Colors: Yellow Ochre,
Naples Yellow, Alizarin Crimson, Pthalo Blue, Viridian Green, Raw Sienna)
7th – 12th Grades Visual Arts Materials:
I. Portfolio: A large, durable portfolio. Minimum size: 20” x 30”. Portfolios are available in paper,
canvas and leather at various prices. Any of these will be fine.
II. Sketchbook: A spiral-bound or book-bound sketchbook, min. 8” x 10”, min. 80 pages.
