for class. We will begin using them the first day of
school. Shop early for the best deals and prices!
Please do not send in paints or markers. Please put
your child’s name on EVERYTHING. We are

Dear Parents of future 2nd graders,
We are looking forward to having your child in our 2nd grade
classes next year. This is a list of supplies that your child
will need in September and a recommended summer program.
 24 #2 yellow pencils – Ticonderoga is Teacher preferred (NOT
mechanical pencils please)













nuts or peanut butter due to allergies and please no fruit snacks or
cookies)
 1 box of ziplock bags (We only need quart or gallon. No
sandwich size please!)
*Please write your child’s name on their crayon box, folder and
school box. Do not write names on the other supplies because we
share them.
**These items will need to be replenished throughout the school
year so you may want to take advantage of the before school
sales.
Recommended Summer Program: Student tend to lose what they don’t
use. The students who read, write and practice math on a regular
basis over the summer months begin their second grade year with
more ease and confidence.
 Reading – Read EVERY day for a minimum of 15 minutes.
 Writing – We recommend a summer journal. Write at least 2
or 3 sentences every day. Please encourage capitals,
periods, neatness and sentences that make sense.
 Math –Practice addition and subtraction facts through 18.
