RDO Rhodora Icaranom of RD 50South Makati, together with the regional officials of RR 8-Makati City, led by Regional Director (RD) Jonas Amora and Asst. RD Teresita Dizon, temporarily closed last January 26 the head office and seven (7) branches of WLA FOOD CONCEPTS, INC. (WEE NAM KEE HAINANESE CHICKEN RICE RESTAURANT), for violation of Section 115 of the Tax Code. Said establishments are located at Ayala Triangle Gardens and Glorietta Center in Ayala Avenue, Makati City; Promenade Greenhills Shopping Center in San Juan City; Serendra Plaza in Fort Bonifactio, Global City; Trinoma Mall in Quezon City; Alabang Town Center in Muntinlupa City; Shangrila Plaza in Greenhills East, Wack Wack, Mandaluyong City and Fairview Terraces in Quirino Highway, Quezon City. Regional Director Araceli Francisco of RR 6-Manila spearheaded last January 28 the temporary closure of Leonchez Trading, an establishment that sells motor accessories and car decoration lamp located at 999 Shopping Mall in Binondo, Manila. Said establishment is under the jurisdiction of RD 30-Binondo, headed by RDO Virgilio Cembrano and Asst. RDO Leticia Arabit. Present during the closure operation were media representatives and police enforcers, together with the following regional and district officials and personnel: Chief, Asst. Chief and Legal Officers of the Legal Division; Chief and Investigators of the Regional Investigation Division; Group Supervisor Claire Felia and some Revenue Officers. Revision of Zonal V alues Values Deed of Donation to RR 4 Members of RR 19-Davao City's Technical Committee on Real Property Valuation (TCRPV), led by designated TCRPV Chair Susan Tusoy, had a meeting last January 28 to evaluate the revised schedule of zonal values of real properties located within the jurisdiction of RD 113-West Davao and 132-East Davao. Also present were ECRPV Chairman, Regional Director Glen Geraldino, RDO Ricardo Espiritu and Asst. RDO Rodrigo Rivamonte of RD 132, and Asst. RDO Romeo Moscoso of RD 113. Engr. Lulu Alicanstre of the Pampanga Provincial Engineering Office presented and turned over last January 29 to OIC/Asst. Regional Director Conrado Lee and OICRDO Consuelo De Asis the signed Deed of Donation and the blue print of the land structure being donated by the Province of Pampanga to RR 4-Pampanga. 2 Tax Information Drives RR 2 - Cor dillera Cordillera Administrative Region Regional Director Eduardo Bajador of RR 2Cordillera Administrative Region discusses the various programs of the region and answers the queries of reporters from Radyo ng Bayan and Manila Bulletin on January 27. RD 17A - T arlac City Tarlac RD 18 - Olongapo City RD 18-Olongapo City, headed by RDO Irene Goze, briefed 500 TAMP taxpayers last January 27 to 29 at RD 18's conference room relative to the implementation of RR 10-2014, expansion of coverage of taxpayers required to file returns and pay taxes through the eFPS, and other mandatory reportorial requirements. Among the resource speakers were ROs Gracita Agaton, Aurora de Leon, Elenita Dizon and Cynthia Flores of Assessment Group, together with Daniel Lubiano and Camilo Liwanag of RDC Luzon 1. RD 8 - Baguio City RDO Venus Gaticales and RO Arlan Davis of RD 8Baguio City conducted a dialogue with taxi operators last January 29 at the DOLE function hall in the city. Assessment Section Chief Alma Celestial Cayabyab of RD 34-Paco, together with RO John Robert Lorenzo and RO Franz Parohinog, conducted a tax briefing for newly-accredited NFA rice dealers and retailers last January 23 at the National Food Authority in Paco, Manila. RD 39-South Quezon City Revenue Officer Glendalyn Palacpac of RD 17ATarlac City discusses on January 28 with newlyregistered taxpayers the BIR's business registration requirements, taxes dues and taxpayers' duties and obligations. RD 36 - Puerto Princesa RD 50-South Makati, headed by RDO Maridur Rosario and Asst. RDO Rhodora Icaranom, conducted a dialogue with taxpayers last January 28 relative to the policies and procedures in the accreditation of cash register machines, pointof-sale and other sales machines. RR 9 - San Pablo City RDO Ariel Calabia of RD 36-Puerto Princesa City, together with Assessment Section Chief Luz Magdalena Bocita and OIC-Collection Chief Ellen Balolong, attended the Sangguniang Bayan Session of Municipality of Narra Palawan last January 23 to discuss the withholding tax treatment of Job Order contractors and other issues and concerns regarding the delinquent accounts of the municipality. Mr. Wendell Isles of HRMS of RR 9-San Pablo City conducted a brief orientation/lecture on the BIR's organization and operation to the students of Canossa College-San Pablo City during the latter's visit at the Regional Office last January 23. A representative from RD 39-South Quezon City conducted a lecture on BIR registration and application processes, basic tax compliance and other tax concerns during a seminar entitled " A Holistic Approach to being an Entrepreneur" conducted by YOLO (You only live once), in partnership with SM Foundation Inc., last January 23 at Skydome, SM North EDSA, QC. The event was well-attended by entrepreneurs and was graced by representatives from other government agencies and GOCCs. 3 Tax Information Drives RD 79 - Dumaguete City OIC-RDOCarolinaCarcallas of RD 79-Dumaguete City welcomes participants to the Tax Seminar for TAMP Taxpayers conducted on January 29. Meeting on EOI with Cebu Taxpayer EOI Section Chief Consorcio Olivan of International Tax Affairs Division briefs representatives of a Cebu-based taxpayer about the Bureau's Exchange of Information (EOI) Program before conducting a clarificatory inquiry involving the finances of subject taxpayer during a meeting held last January 29 at the BIR Social Hall. AMT Meeting Arrears Management Team (AMT) Project Manager Grace Evelyn Lacerna, together with Collection Division Chiefs and AMT Heads of RR Nos. 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 and other revenuers, conducted their 1st AMT Meeting last January 23 at RR 5's Regional Multi-Purpose Hall. Discussed, among others, were the finalization of collection report for 2014, inventory of arrears as of December 31, 2014, ARMS utilization updates and pilot implementation of AMT in RR Nos. 4- Pampanga and 9-San Pablo City. 4 eTIS -1 Case Management System (CMS) End Users T raining eTIS-1 Training Five (5) batches of revenuers attended the simultaneous conduct of eTIS-1 Case Management System (CMS) End Users Training (Full CMS and Reports) conducted last January 27 to 29 by the Master Trainers for eTIS-1 Audit and Case Management System, in coordination with the Training Delivery Division. Said participants are Revenue Officers from RR 8-Makati City, Litigation Division, National Investigation Division, TARD, VCAD and Large Taxpayers Service. eTIS-1 Demonstration in RR 8 - Makati City RR 4's Recipients of CSC Seal of Excellence Awar d Award RDO Romeo Naranjo of RD 21ANorth Pampanga and RDO Lotie Blando of RD 23A-North Nueva Ecija proudly show the CSC Resolution declaring their district offices as recipients of the CSC Seal of Excellence Award for 2014. RD Teresita Dizon, conducted an eTIS-1 demonstration last January 29, which was delivered by Maria Zorahaida Dela Cruz and Rosalie Panuda. The demonstration was attended by MCC Vice-President for Department of Compact Operations, Mr. Kamran Khan, together with DCIR Estela Sales, ACIR Marietta Lorenzo, ACIR Nestor Valeroso, OIC-ACIR Marilou Del Rosario and OICHREA Erlinda Pantanilla. IMF Advisor Rick Fisher and representatives from MCC and INDRA were also present to witness the demonstration. 2015 T ax Campaign Pr eliminaries Tax Preliminaries in RR 14 - T acloban City Tacloban Revenue officials of RR 14-Tacloban City, led by Regional Director Diosdado Mendoza, held their 2015 Tax Campaign Preliminaries last January 27 at the BIR Records and Multi-Purpose Building. The event was highlighted with a Forum on Organizational Development and Change Management in preparation for the 2015 Asean Economic Integration. It was attended by participants from the business sector, professional organizations, SUCs, LGUs, NGAs, NGOs, banks and cooperatives, among others. Validation of BIR Citizen' Citizen'ss Charter in RR 5 & RD 27 Personnel Specialist Myla Dimaandal from the Civil Service Commission-Caloocan Field Office visited RR 5 and RD 27Caloocan City last January 26 to validate the implementation of the BIR Citizen's Charter in the said offices, in line with the grant of the 2014 Performance-Based Bonus. Regional Director Conrado Lee of RR 4-Pampanga spearheaded and facilitated the conduct of the region's 2015 Strategic Planning Session held last January 22 to 23 at Machiavelli Hotel. The session was participated in by all Division Chiefs, Asst. Division Chiefs, Unit Head, RDOs, ARDOs and the Section Chiefs. RR 9 - San Pablo City RR 9-San Pablo City, headed by Regional Director (RD) Jose Tan and Asst. RD Clavelina Nacar, conducted a Regional Operational Planning Session for CY 2015 last January 29 at RR 9's MultiPurpose Hall. Resource speakers were Research and Statistics Division OIC-Asst. Chief Lizabel Valderrama, Planning and Programming Division Section Chiefs Laarni Angeles and Christie Villanueva. Members of RR 4-Pampanga's different working committees attended a Coordination Meeting in preparation for their 2015 Regional Tax Campaign Kick-off Program presided by their Chairman, OIC/Asst. Regional Director Conrado Lee last January 27 at the Regional Conference Room. On the same day, members of the region's TaxGisan ng Galing and Poster Making Contest Committee, led by Legal Division OIC-Asst. Chief Francisco Sarmiento III, also held a meeting. Revenue officials of RR 5-Caloocan, led by Regional Director (RD) Gerardo Florendo and Asst. RD Ma. Gracia Javier, met last January 27 for the finalization of activities for the region's 2015 Tax Campaign Kickoff scheduled on February 12, 2015. RR 8 - Makati City RR 6 - Manila RR 7 - Quezon City Revenue officials of RR 6-Manila, led by Regional Director Araceli Francisco, attended their 1st Regional Staff Conference last January 26. Regional Investigation Division, headed by Atty. Teodoro Galicia, hosted the conference. Regional Director Alfredo Misajon of RR 7Quezon City and Regional Quality Management Representative (RQMR), Atty. Jethro Sabariaga, together with members of the Internal Audit Team and Document and Records Controller, attended last January 26 the Opening Meeting for the scheduled conduct of Internal Quality Audit. Also present were RDOs, TSS Chief and Administrative Officers of the (10) ten district offices of RR 7. RR 5 - Caloocan Members of RR 6-Manila's Regional Evaluation Board, led by Regional Director Araceli Francisco, met last January 27 to discuss the preparations and materials needed for the closure of one of the establishments at 999 Mall, Binondo, Manila. Other matters related to the regional tax campaign kick-off were also discussed during the meeting. Asst. RD Teresita Dizon, met last January 27 regarding preparations for the region's 2015 Tax Campaign Kick-off. 9 Meetings RR 11 - Iloilo City RR 14 - T acloban City Tacloban Asst. Regional Director Aynie Mandajoyan-Dizon of RR II-Iloilo City led the deliberation of the Personnel Selection Board last January 27. Regional Director (RD) Diosdado Mendoza of RR 14-Tacloban City spearheaded the region's 1st Regional Monthly Staff Conference conducted last January 28 at the BIR Regional Conference Room. RD Mendoza congratulated everyone for the success of the region's 2015 Tax Campaign Preliminaries. He also discussed the region's collection goal for CY 2015 and directed all RDOs to formulate specific plans to attain their collection targets, among others. RR 12 - Bacolod City RR 19 - Davao City OIC-Regional Director Myrna Leonida of RR 12-Bacolod City discusses with all RDOs and Division Chiefs the plans for the upcoming 2015 Tax Campaign Kick-off during their meeting held last January 28. RR 17 - Butuan City Revenuers of RR 17-Butuan City, led by Regional Director (RD) Norberto Vitug and Asst. RD Christine Juliet Chua, conducted their Regional Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System Meeting last January 27 at the BIR Regional Training Center . Client Support Unit Head Edelwesa Patubo of RR 17-Butuan City attended the 1st Quarterly Consumer Net Meeting 2015 Planning last January 27. Members of RR 19Davao City's Committee on PRAISE (Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence), led by Regional Director Glen Geraldino, met last January 27 at the BIR Conference Room to discuss proposals and recommendations relative to the giving of awards to deserving personnel of the region. RR 19-Davao City's Regional Performance ManagementTeam, chaired by Regional Director Glen Geraldino, met last January 29 to discuss issues and concerns relative to the submission of OPCRs (Performance Evaluation) for the 2nd Semester of 2014. It was facilitated byAssessment Division Chief Lita Ma. Chin. RR 19-Davao City's Tax Campaign Kick-off Committee, headed by Regional Director Glen Geradlino, met last January 29 to discuss updates on the region's preparations for the 2015 Tax Campaign Kick-off to be held on March 4, 2015 at SM City Davao Annex.
