What’s on the Pastor’s Mind. . . .
This past Friday was a First Friday. It was an
opportunity to spend time with the Lord in adoration.
It is a true blessing for many to spend quiet time with
the Lord. I have spoken of listening to the Lord. Of
finding out what the Lord is saying to you. There is a
lot of noise in our lives, to find a moment and place of
silence is a great gift we can give ourselves. Perhaps
an hour with the Lord or an hour of silence seems a
little daunting. We may wonder what will I do? But
time spent with a friend goes by too quickly. It does
take time to re-adjust ourselves, but it is time well
spent. For many of us there is little time for us to do
spiritual reading, here it is. From the saints we see the
importance of spiritual reading and its transformative
power over time. It is a matter then of making that
time and allowing the Son to shine on us as we sit at
the feet of our Lord. Our next First Friday will fall in
Lent, perhaps that could be one of your Lenten
projects to participate in is an hour of adoration.

FIFTH SUNDARY IN ORDINARY TIME
“Reality Check” Program Seeks Volunteers. Do
our children really understand money management? Most
people would agree that the answer is no. Our children
seem to have difficulty when they reach financial freedom.
We need to do a better job of preparing our students for the
real world. Thanks to wonderful community volunteers,
Bloomer High School is again planning their annual
“Reality Check” interactive program designed to give
students a chance to test their budgeting skills and their
ability as consumers in our economy. It will be held Wed.,
March 18 from 8 am to 10:45 am at the high school. In case
of inclement weather, it will be held March 19. Students
will choose a career ahead of time that they think they will
have by the time they are 28. They will enter the event
assigned with a family status and a paycheck according to
their career. Booths are set up – each having their own
life’s “reality” – such as purchasing a car, housing,
groceries, utilities, daycare, an emergency or two, possible
police citation, etc. Volunteers from area businesses are
needed at each booth to assist students in purchasing life’s
necessities and working with a budget. If you are
interested, please call the church office at 715-568-3778.

TMIY - “That Man is You”
To the men of St. John and St. Paul parishes: This week we
will identify the three fundamental temptations of Satan as
the flesh, the world, and the devil. These are all distortions
of our orientations towards God, self, and others. Our goal
is to find out where we are personally tempted in our lives
and ask ourselves the question, which type of soil am I?
