ABOUT THE INSTITUTION
Sethu Institute of Technology was
established in the year 1995 at kariapatti.
Virudhunagar Dist, with the motto of “Knowledge,
service and progress”. The founder and chairman,
Mr.S.Mohamed Jaleel, renders his noble service since
1995 to the sustained growth of the educationally,
industrially, economically backward rural area. The
college has grown into a multi disciplinary institution
offering 8 UG and 7 PG courses. Our college is an
autonomous institution and accredited by National
Board of Accreditation for 6 UG programmes.
Affiliated to Anna University and approved by
AICTE, the college offers quality education and
technical competencies on the strong foundation of
values, ideals and rich culture to the students across
the country. The college is equipped with world class
infrastructure and highly qualified and experienced
faculty members. An active placement cell is
functioning with full enthusiasm with the aim of
placing the students in top-notch companies. Our
college has secured 125 University ranks in the
recently published Anna university rank list.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Civil Engineering Department was
established in the year 2007 offering B.E. Civil
Engineering program with a student’s intake of 60.
M.E. Structural Engineering Program was introduced
in the year 2011 with an intake of 18. In the year 2014,
the student’s intake for Undergraduate program was
increased to 180. The vision of the Department is to
become a school of excellence in civil engineering
education with an emphasis on research for the benefit
of the industry and society. The Department of Civil
Engineering has well equipped laboratories for
Academic, Consultancy and R & D activities. From
the inception of the Department students have secured
20 University ranks. The Department is approved as a
research centre by Anna University, Chennai. The
Department has well qualified faculty with varied
experience in areas of structural Engineering,
Environmental Engineering, Irrigation Water
Management, Soil Mechanics, Coastal Management,
Geoinformatics etc. Three Faculty members are
Doctorates and three faculty members are pursuing
their doctoral program.
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
In the rapidly changing scenario of building
sector planners, architects, engineers and builders are
searching for new materials and technologies to adopt
in future constructions that have benefits like energy
efficiency, resources & water conservation, improved
indoor air quality, life cycle cost reduction and
durability. Therefore, to attain these objectives,
application of the latest advancements in various
technologies including developments in material
science, use of environment friendly building
materials, obtaining energy efficiency while
producing such materials are of prime concern. This
conference will provide an excellent opportunity for
the speakers/delegates to discuss and share their
views on the suggested themes which are listed below.
In addition to the contributed papers the conference
will also include key note Lectures by experts.

CALL FOR TECHNICAL PAPERS
Prospective authors are hereby invited to
submit directly full length manuscript of their original
research work not more than 8 pages (including
abstract not exceeding 200 words, figures, tables,
graphs, references) by e-mail to the organizing
secretary. The manuscript would be peer-reviewed
and authors would then be informed of the acceptance
of their papers. The printed proceedings of the
conference would be brought out along with a CDROM. At least one of the authors should register for
the paper to appear in the proceedings of the
conference.

• The paper should be word processed typed in single
spacing using Times New Roman
• All paragraphs should be justified with margin of 1
inch on all sides
