This Lent Mary, Mother of God Church will
again participate in CRS' Rice Bowl, a faith-inaction program that helps you experience Lenten
spirituality by living in solidarity with people in need
around the world.
"Lent is a fitting time for self-denial; we
would do well to ask ourselves what we can give up
in order to help and enrich others by our own
poverty." -Pope Francis
As the global Church prepares for the World
Meeting of Families 2015 in Philadelphia this fall, it
is especially appropriate, this Lent, for families to
come together in prayer. Please get your Rice
Bowl and Lenten Calendar as you leave Church,
they are great tools to guide your Lenten prayer,
fasting and almsgiving. Return your Rice Bowl the
First Sunday after Easter.

lives! What actions can you take this Lent to

HEALTH SCREENING
April 12, 2015
at Immaculate Conception, Somerville

The Parish Nurses of Immaculate
Conception Church will sponsor a FREE HEALTH
SCREENING on Sunday April 12th in conjunction
with St Peter's Mobile Unit. The hours of operation
are 8:30am to 12 noon. There is no pre-registration,
however, screening is on a first come first served
basis. Saint Peter's will therefore determine the
time they will see the last patient.
Please plan on taking advantage of this free
service! The Health Fair is being held in the
Immaculate Conception grade school Cafeteria.
Some of the great services it will include are
screenings for: blood pressure, blood sugar,
cholesterol, DermaScan(for skin cancer), height,
weight, body mass index(BMI), and nutrition
counseling. We are hoping to have a doctor
present to answer questions and a representative
to answer insurance questions as well. Please take
advantage of this stellar opportunity to care for your
body, as we believe, through scripture that we are a
temple of the Holy Spirit!

Cursillo
The Cursillo Sixth Annual Encounter With
Christ will be held at Mary, Mother of God Parish on
Saturday, February 28, 2015. Our distinguished
speakers will be Fr. Glenn Sudano, CFR of the
Franciscan Friars of the Renewal (Most Blessed
Sacrament Friary, Newark, NJ) and Sr. Francesca,
CFR of the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal
(Convent of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Bronx, NY).
The theme of the Encounter will be the Holy Spirit
in our Lives.
Morning coffee and donuts as well as a light
lunch will be served. Exposition of the Blessed
Sacrament; opportunity for the Sacrament of
Reconciliation; as well as celebration of the Mass.
There is no charge for the event; but a free will
offering will be accepted. ALL ARE WELCOME.
