Course Description:
This course explores issues that deal with the ethical and social implications of computer
technology and Internet. Students will become familiar with issues related to professional
ethics, ethical use of the Internet, privacy issues, computer crime, team work, the balance
between the acceptability of risk and constraints (such as cost, scheduling, safety and
quality), property rights of software, accountability and social implications of information
technology and Internet.

Grades: Grades will be weighted as follows:

Attendance: Class attendance is mandatory and also will be graded. Although I do not have a rigid cut policy, I will take attendance most days, and anyone who has missed lots of classes and is doing poorly in the course should not expect much sympathy from me. If you do miss a class, it is your responsibility to make up the materials.
