Description:
Handicap International, is a International Humanitarion Organization specializing in the field of disability. A strong
emphasis is placed on empowering people with disabilities through their integration into mainstream
development activities and the provision of appropriate health and rehabilitation services to ensure equal
opportunities for all. Handicap International is present in Pakistan since 2005. The organization continues to
support TDPs and host communities in KPK.
The project:
The project “Increasing Community Resilience to Natural Hazards by reducing vulnerabilities to risks” in district
Sujawal, Sindh Province. Community Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM), mitigation and structural
measures at community level, livelihood and strengthening of local stakeholders (key government line
departments) capacities are key components of project.
Responsibilities:
- Contributes to design the methodologies for the assessment and stakeholders' analysis, while
adapting the existing tools developed by Handicap International (inclusive DRR, inclusive livelihoods,
access to services, local participatory diagnosis, etc.)
- Conducts the surveys, assessments or any other type of ex-ante evaluation, collects and analyses the data
as per designed methodology
- Monitor timely and correct implementation of planned activities on the field
- Efficiently manage the construction and rehabilitation team
- Provide estimation and bill of quantity follow logistic process to realize the works on site
- Organizes regular meetings with main operational and strategic stakeholders related to the sector of
intervention and participates to relevant coordination forums.
- Under the supervision of his/her line specialist, organizes workshops / consultations with external
stakeholders
- In coordination with his/her line specialist, designs the reporting mechanisms and monitoring and evaluation
system related to the project in accordance with Handicap International requirements

Compiles and analyzes the information according to the Monitoring and Evaluation system.
Skills required:
- Degree in Social Sciences or with minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working with NGOs in DRR.
- Previous experience in working with people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups
- Sound experience in working on accessibility issues.
- Comfortable facilitating trainings to different kind of audience
- Organisation skills, diplomacy, computer and language skills (Sindhi, English and Urdu)
- Commitment to HI’s mission and values.

- Experience in working with person with disabilities based on the social and/or rights based approach
