Thalictrum thalictroides `Pink Pearl` is an attractive lavender
Galax urceolata
Beetleweed or Wandflower
Donated by Mt. Cuba Center, Inc.
A seldom-seen native American ground cover that grows well in moist, acid,
humusy soil, and part shade. An elegant plant that spreads slowly, the rich, glossy,
leaves turn a shade of deep burgundy during winter, but still remain. Add leaves to
the soil during summer to retain moisture and provide nutrients. Single, spike-like,
ivory flowers are produced in late spring to early summer. You will be the envy of
many a garden visitor. 12 – 16 inch height, Galax grows well with other acid
loving woodland plants.
