In 2015, AUSTSWIM presents a series of conferences across Australia and New Zealand, focusing on
innovative and up to date initatives based around:

‘Soak It Up’
Our theme for the conference series is ‘Soak It Up’; that’s what our delegates crave; relevant and up to date
information delivered by outstanding presenters in an interactive manner.
Your organisation can also be part of this forum. Showcase your product and services to the delegates, at

The AUSTSWIM offices sit under one umbrella, working collaboratively to help reduce the drowning
statistics. AUSTSWIM has a very holistic view on water activity - It’s not all about ‘swimming strokes’,

A little about AUSTSWIM
The Australasian Council for the Teaching of Swimming and Water Safety
AUSTSWIM was formed in 1979, with the objective of developing consistent and better quality training of
Teachers of Swimming and Water Safety across Australia and New Zealand.
In 2015 AUSTSWIM is a dynamic and influential, not for profit, mainstay of the grassroots aquatic industry
providing training, accreditation, standards and innovation that benchmark and support safer aquatic
participation and drowning prevention strategies across the country.
AUSTSWIM has a strong philosophy that is founded in the belief that all Australians should have
appropriate and relevant swimming and water safety knowledge and skills.
AUSTSWIM trains, accredits and licences 10,000 Teachers of Swimming and Water Safety per year.
Currently over 30,000 active AUSTSWIM teachers based in Australia, New Zealand and internationally
provide aquatic education in local communities.
AUSTSWIM’s small but dedicated national staff team are supported and guided by a committed group of volunteer
Board members and a unique National Council representing peak industry bodies that include:
