Travis Kaul
Travis Kaul graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and Banking in 1992. He is also a 2003
graduate of Pacific Coast Banking School. Throughout college he worked with several banks
gaining experience in multiple areas of their operations ranging from Trust Department services,
Bank Cards, Marketing and Community Reinvestment Act activities. He began his postgraduation banking career with U.S. Bank in Seattle, WA in their Management Training Program
and became a Commercial Loan Officer in 1994.
In 1995 he moved to Sandpoint, ID and joined Panhandle State Bank in 1996 as Manager of the
bank’s third branch in Ponderay before relocating to the Sandpoint office in 2000 to focus on
commercial lending. Travis was promoted to the Sandpoint office Branch Manager in 2005 and
in 2008 his position changed to encompass managing the Commercial Lending area of the bank.
As the Business Banking Manager, Travis oversaw the four regional divisions of commercial
lending with a strong focus on improved communication and unified direction for the bank. He
implemented several new processes and enhanced reporting and portfolio management to help
the bank monitor production and quality control through the last three years.
Other projects Travis has been highly instrumental in completing for the bank have been the
Officer Incentive Plans, Production Incentives for branch staff, Loan Officer and CRA Officer
Training Programs and Building Project Management during the construction of the Sandpoint
Financial Center.
Travis is currently Senior Vice President, Chief Banking Officer and oversees loan and deposit
production for Panhandle State Bank and its subsidiaries, an Idaho based community bank with
$963 million in assets as of June 30, 2012.
He has lived in the Sandpoint area for the past 16 years with his wife Kim, and their two
children. The family enjoys the outdoors and takes pleasure in many hiking, skiing, hunting and
fishing excursions throughout the Northwest.
As a member of the community Travis has been President of the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of
Commerce, served on the Historical Society, was a member of Rotary and is actively involved
with Panhandle Alliance for Education. He also serves on the Finance Committee of the
Sandpoint Catholic Church.
