Abstract: During the past few decades, science and technology parks have become an
important driver of China’s economy. As well, China is now a major player in assisting the
development of science and technology parks in many countries of the Global South. This
lecture will share the experience of the development of Chinese science and technology parks
in recent decades. It will also explain the mechanics of everyday operations, as well as China’s
new emphasis on innovation and high-tech development.
