Title: Executive Director
The Coronado SAFE Board of Directors is seeking a professional with an
entrepreneurial spirit and strong business skills to expand the reach and depth of
our mission and work within the community. This candidate must be personally
and professionally inspired and driven by the mission and work of Coronado’s
Student and Family Enrichment organization.
Desired Qualifications:
The Executive Director must have a proven track record of working with
collaborative efforts that include educational organizations, public sector
agencies, and the private business community. A minimum of a B.A. in Business
or related field is required. A proven track record and performance in fundraising
is preferred. Additional experience, training and/or research in education, health
or a related field preferred.
Candidates must demonstrate the following qualities:

A passion and connection to the mission of Coronado SAFE and the
impact of it’s programs and services to the Coronado community and
greater San Diego area
•
Collaborative in approach with strong communication skills with the staff,
Board of Directors, donors, sponsors and community
•
Articulate and effective writing skills
•
Articulate and effective public speaking skills
•
Proficient computer skills; tech savvy
•
Results based management style
•
A comprehensive and realistic understanding of the challenges that
families, parents, and children face in the 21 century, specifically in
Coronado and the critical role that education, specific skill sets and
counseling plays in the development, quality of life and future of our
community members.
Responsibilities to include:
•
Advocate and sell SAFE Programs within community to end users and
partners
•
Annual strategic planning, development, and results based metrics
•
Donor development and management; the ability to convert participants,
supporters and advocates of SAFE into donors and; experience
and results required
•
Implement annual fundraising plans and assist Board in fundraising efforts
•
Community engagement and outreach through leadership at
group meetings, community events, public speaking engagement
and other promotional activities
•
Non-profit best practices; ensure legal compliance and review
of policies/procedures, compliance to internal controls
•
Work closely with SAFE Coalition, SAFE community partners, and the
SAFE community to build liaisons and productive program partnerships to
ensure SAFE’s sustainability and the effectiveness of all its programs and
services
•
Marketing and Program Development management
•
Financial oversight specific to strategic planning and understanding of
P&L within profit based centers of business
•
SAFE programs, events and services management
Requirements for application:

mission. This sample can be in the form of a newspaper article, a blog post, or a
letter to our donors on behalf of the organization.
4. Prepare a 3-4 minute speech on the importance of the mission and direction of
Coronado SAFE (for in person interview)
5. A professional resume

Salary Range: $40K-$50K
