Lucky for Life Second Prize Winner Congratulated Washington, DC – Unassuming, yet sure of his win, Mr. Benny Lucas of Southeast, DC presented his Lucky for Life winning lottery ticket at the DC Lottery’s Prize Center. Secured on each side by his wife of 48 years and their daughter, Lucas—a native Washingtonian and long-time employee of the District’s public schools—claimed his $25,000 A Year for Life win with Lucky for Life. The ticket was purchased at Mac Market & Deli located at 5158 MacArthur Boulevard, NW for the game played on April 20. The winning numbers were 44-23-45-17-35 and the Lucky Ball was 15. “I’m very happy. I’d heard about the win, but didn’t think it was me. Then, I saw on Facebook that the DC Lottery had been at the winning store. I thought I’d better check my tickets because that’s where I got mine,” laughed Lucas who works at a school in the Palisades neighborhood. Billed as “The Game of a Lifetime,” Lucky for Life is a $2 national jackpot game currently played in 15 states and the District of Columbia. The Second Prize is $25,000 A Year for Life. There are eight other ways to win prizes up to $5,000. Sales for Lucky for Life were initiated in the District in February 2015.
