This summer, the Virginia Lottery will launch a new, enhanced subscriptions system on valottery.com.
This is a long-planned modernization of our Internet subscriptions program, that launched in 2005.
Two games will be offered at launch: Mega Millions and Powerball. Players can subscribe from two
weeks to a year, and they can upgrade their subscriptions with Megaplier and Power Play.
To subscribe, users must have a valid Virginia mailing address and be at least 18 years old. Identity and age will be verified through
the system’s software, and geolocation technology will confirm that players are present in Virginia when they log on to subscribe.
Responsible gaming limits will be in place to discourage excessive spending, and a self-exclusion option will be available for players
with gambling problems.
The Lottery looks forward to cross-promoting this exciting new web feature to drive subscribers back to Lottery retailers.
Some advertising is planned for later this year.
