8:00 AM Sewing with Nancy "Bargello Quilts with a Twist, Part 1" Learn an alternative method of making
Bargello quilt blocks that yields a plethora of versatile designs. Nancy and Maggie Ball, author and quilt
designer, demonstrate easy to piece Bargello quilt blocks and twist them to yield a variety of designs.
They teach a basic plan to select fabric, arrange and stitch the strips, cut strips into segments, and layout
the blocks. Then they make a Tessellating Butterflies runner with 12 identical blocks and sashing strips.
Maggie showcases several quilts.
8:30 AM It's Sew Easy "Something Extra" Our recurring theme is "let the experts show you how". What
experts offer is that little something extra - maybe it's a tip, or an extra step, or maybe even a shortcut but they have that technique perfected over countless projects and want to share with you! Janet Pray
is our first expert with a wonderful technique for single and double miters the professional way. Then
look at patchwork just a little bit differently with a biscornu - a type of pillow design demonstrated by
Rebecca Kemp Brent. Finally, Angela Wolf creates a sheer fabric scarf using free motion stitching and
stabilizer.

with almost limitless design options. Author and prolific quilter Maggie Ball joins Nancy to present her
ingenious Bargello quilt block. Maggie and Nancy share the secrets for planning the blocks, choosing
color and value, and making versatile designs by combining strip sets. They show how to make a one of a
kind quilt using 24 identical blocks with various layout options. Maggie showcases several of her Bargello
quilts.
8:30 AM Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting "Cabins at the Lake" The Cabins at the Lake quilt utilizes simple
piecing techniques and an introduction to foundation paper piecing.

8:00 AM Sewing with Nancy "Column Quilts, Part 1" Make an easy quilt with columns of color and
square inserts. Nancy explains the simple process of quilting in columns instead of the traditional
squares, triangles, and blocks. The color flow is continuous with one color leading into another color.
Learn to do reversible quilting using flannel or conventional batting, and how to transform a quilt to a
larger size by simply adding length and more columns.
8:30 AM Quilt In A Day "Nine Patch Party Quilt" When Eleanor moved Quilt in a Day from her garage to
its present location, the party began! Sit back, relax, and watch as Eleanor makes positive and negative
Nine-Patch blocks and sets them together with appliqued flowers and a scalloped border.
9:00 AM Knitting Daily "Crochet Home" Crochet some style for your home. Editor Marcy Smith highlights
a unique, colorful rug and Toni Rexroat talks about crochet and home decor. Marcy Smith shows a
charming log cabin afghan and Tanis Gray shares a perfect stitch for a house warming gift. Vickie Howell
transforms a doily pattern into a chic throw rug with multiple strands of yarn and a big hook.

8:00 AM Sewing with Nancy "Column Quilts, Part 2" Learn to create a linear design using dimensional
scrappy pieces or traditional blocks. Use leftover fabrics to make an easy to sew Scrappy Column Quilt
with dimensional inserts. Folding and pressing are the secrets to making this fun quilt with interesting
shapes. Also learn new tricks with batting, and add bridging strips to traditional blocks to create a
column concept.
8:30 AM It's Sew Easy "Fabric First" There are many sources for inspiration when choosing a sewing
project. Sometimes we find the perfect pattern or silhouette, and sometimes it's a special occasion we
want to sew for, other times we simply love a particular fabric and look for something to make out of a
gorgeous cut. But each fabric has characteristics that require different techniques. We chose 3 fabrics
today and projects that are unique to the fabric chosen. First, Angela shows her technique for needle
felting on silk. Next, Tina Givens introduces us to one of her favorite fabrics - linen. She has some tips for
quilt blocks that tell a unique story. Then, Angela returns for free motion techniques on cotton.
9:00 AM Beads, Baubles and Jewels "Using Jigs for Wire Forming" Brenda Schweder is an expert on
using jigs for forming wire. She demonstrates how to use a jig, plus new ways to create buckle findings.

8:00 AM Sewing with Nancy "Landscape Quilting Workshop, Part 1" Take a practical approach to create
the elements of a picturesque landscape scene. Nancy and her quilting mentor Natalie Sewell show you
how to cut, shade, paint, and stipple trees. Their landscape quilt designs feature light and dark plus
distant and close-up trees. Learn "messy cutting," shading/highlighting with various mediums, and learn
how to stipple in a way that adds dimension to the trees.
8:30 AM Quilting Arts " On The Surface #1" The options for design on the surface are endless. Using
thermal print screens, Lyric Montgomery Kinard layers texture onto fabric. Susan Brubaker Knapp grabs
her calligraphy pens and brushes to add her favorite quotes to make small art quilts with a message.
Roxane Lessa pushes her work to the next dimension with 3-D textile painting.
9:00 AM Fit 2 Stitch "Great Ez Sewing Styles for Everyone" Learn about some wardrobe choices in fitted
clothing, with simple patterns that sew quickly and fit well.

8:00 AM Sewing with Nancy "Landscape Quilting Workshop, Part 2" Practice making floral landscape
elements with a simple piece by piece approach. In the second episode of this mini workshop class,
landscape artists Natalie Sewell and Nancy teach you to make gorgeous blooms, buds, and leaves. Shade
and highlight blossoms, buds, and leaves for a 3D effect, and resize to add realism to your artwork.
Stipple details, and outline petals, grasses, and leaves-let your fabric and design dictate how you stitch.
8:30 AM It's Sew Easy "Tucks and Texture" There are many different ways to manipulate fabric for a
textural look and feel. Especially in a monochromatic color scheme texture really stands out. Rebecca
Kemp Brent starts out with a tucked bolster pillow - it's a traditional technique and look that
complements many different decor styles. Then, it's a traditional quilting technique in a nontraditional
way as Angela Wolf uses a walking foot to quilt a jacket. We finish up with flat felled seams - common in
quilting but incorporated into clothing with Janet Pray.

them to projects.

8:00 AM Sewing with Nancy "Landscape Quilting Workshop, Part 3" Get the self-assurance you need to
do landscape quilting in small step by step lessons. The final episode in this series deals with the trickiest
part of landscape quilting-ground cover! Nancy and her quilting buddy Natalie Sewell show how to
achieve movement and depth in ground cover by layering and working with a multitude of fabrics in a
random and unruly way. Give life to your designs by highlighting and shading with markers and oil
pastels. Then stipple to your heart's content following the movement of the fabric.
8:30 AM Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting "Stippled Owl Pillow" Mary Fons and Sara Gallegos show you
the wonders of the technology that makes embroidery and stippling quick and easy.
9:00 AM Knit and Crochet Now! "Styllish Cardigans" The knit Alabaster Cardigan by Cheryl Beckerich will
be demonstrated by Kristin, and Ellen demonstrates the steps of the crochet Uptown Chic by Laura
Gebhardt. Lastly, Lena presents the "how-tos" to make the crochet Star Stitch Long Cowl.

8:00 AM Sewing with Nancy "Stress Free Zipper Creations" Take a carefree approach to zippers by
creating fast and fun zippered projects. Designer Mary Mulari joins Nancy to "zip up" functional and
decorative projects! Learn easy zipper techniques for lanyards, picnic totes, cosmetic bags, storage for
electronic devices, and more. Plus, you'll find new options for using zippers in unique and unusual ways
to make trim such as piping and appliques for all your projects.
8:30 AM Quilt In A Day "Nine Patch and Stripe Quilt" Quilt in a Day becomes a family affair with Grant
and Orion pitching in to help with the business. In honor of her two sons, Eleanor makes two quilts at
one time with Nine-Patches and stripes.
9:00 AM Knitting Daily "Made In North America" Some of the most exciting yarns are made in North
America. Donna Drachunas knits a lace scarf with luxurious yarn from the Alaskan muskox. Ron and
Theresa Miskin share their story of yarn from the American bison. Tanis Gray stitches a patriotic star
flower to accent hats to pillows. Nicole Winer demonstrates a project with a US-made yarn that benefits
a good cause.

8:00 AM Sewing with Nancy "Runway Finishes for Cool Edges, Part 1" Learn to sew runway finishes for
seams and hems, creating artistic details on fashion fabrics. Nancy and Linda Lee, fashion designer from
The Sewing Workshop, share their penchant for sewing to create cool runway finishes such as mitered
corners for hems, a trendy method for sewing a detailed Hong Kong Finish, baby hems for sheers, and a
crisp shirttail hem on a classic shirt. The finishing steps are all simple, yet effective.
8:30 AM It's Sew Easy "The New Century Begins - The 1900s" The Industrial Revolution was in full swing
and women ventured beyond their homes into the workplace and politics. Angela Wolf creates a
luxurious kimono duster inspired by those worn over long, full skirts and dresses. Kathy McMakin uses
today's machines to create a precious heirloom baby bonnet you'll treasure.
9:00 AM Beads, Baubles and Jewels "Torch-Fired Enameling" Metal artist Mary Hettmansperger
demonstrates torch-fired enameling and how to create three dimensional surfaces. She also shares tips
for cutting metal. Then, enjoy an online visit with author and teacher Kate Richbourg from her studio
with advice for caring for and cleaning your tools.

8:00 AM Sewing with Nancy "Runway Finishes for Cool Edges, Part 2" Enjoy a unique sewing experience
finishing seams and hems with runway-style sewing secrets. Linda Lee, pattern designer and author,
joins Nancy to showcase runway raw edge finishes suitable for woven and knit fashions. They extend
cool edges to home decor using bold fringe that effortlessly fits into seams. They also feature fuse and
stitch underlays for couture garments, including a selvage with ribbon and fringed edges, plus a
petticoat edge on a T-shirt.
8:30 AM Quilting Arts "Be Your Own Designer" Fabric is a blank canvas waiting to be filled. Memory quilt
designer Trish Bowman uses novel design concepts to create sensational memory quilts. Susan Brubaker
Knapp opens her sketchbook and uses her original designs to add embroidery to a jacket or apron.
Starting with a simple drawing, Liz Kettle shows how to add life and energy to it with machine thread
sketching.

blouse is the best option for today's woman.

8:00 AM Sewing with Nancy "Sew Elastic-Stretch Your Options, Part 1" Learn timesaving tips for sewing a
variety of elastics. Nancy reviews various types of elastics including braided, knitted, and woven, and
then she teaches updated techniques for buttonhole and drawcord elastic. In addition, learn how to
make a traditional elastic casing and a ready-to-wear technique for a no-worries elastic casing, especially
nice for knit garments.
8:30 AM It's Sew Easy "The World at War - 1910-1919" As the First World War began, supplies became
scarce. Women joined the workforce as men fought overseas. Fashions became less restrictive, bustles
disappeared and the silhouette became sleeker. Designers used scraps for embellishment and
manipulated fabric to create design details. Rebecca Kemp Brent shows how to create beautiful scrap
fabric flowers. Angela Wolf uses couture draping techniques to add fashion flair to a straight skirt.

8:00 AM Sewing with Nancy "Sew Elastic-Stretch Your Options, Part 2" Choose elastic for great shaping
details-the perfect stepping stone to creative projects! Nancy uses clear, narrow, and fold-over elastic
plus elastic thread in conventional and creative ways. Stabilize shoulder seams and add stretch to
neckline seams with clear elastic, use 1/4" elastic for stretchable gathers, elastic thread for smocking,
and soft flexible foldover elastic to finish soft knits such as baby clothing and fleece.
8:30 AM Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting "Twisted Triangles" In this show you will learn how to use a
special triangle template to create hexagons with a little twist.
9:00 AM Knit and Crochet Now! "Headbands" The Thai Garden Headband by Jenny King is a real head
turner, and she shows us how to make it. Drew shows how to make a Loom-Knit Meadow Moss
Headband by Brenda Myers. Next up is Lena with two cowls: The Big Cable Knit Cowl and The Big Cable
Crochet Cowl.

8:00 AM Sewing with Nancy "Sewing Then and Now, Part 1" Learn about sewing techniques great
grandma used, and see how much easier sewing has become today. Nancy takes a look into the past and
compares sewing techniques from sewing books written in the 1920s-1950s to the same techniques
sewn now. Among the techniques included in this 2-part series are stitching pockets, piping, hems, and
zippers, plus many more comparisons between sewing "then and now."
8:30 AM Quilt In A Day " Road to Stardom Quilt" Join Eleanor as she reminisces about her first television
programs and shares her outtakes for comic relief. Follow along as she demonstrates the methods in
constructing chain blocks and stars with the Triangle in a Square Ruler.
9:00 AM Knitting Daily "New Spin" Learn how to make yarn yourself! Editor Anne Merrow introduces the
ancient art of spinning using a drop spindle and shares ideas for knitting with hand-spun yarn. Liz Gipson
shares her love of making yarn by hand and Tanis Gray demonstrates the lazy links stitch. Then learn to
make dryer balls to assure great results when laundering knits.

8:00 AM Sewing with Nancy "Sewing Then and Now, Part 2" Take a virtual trip to sewing in the past, and
then fast-forward to convenient sewing of the present. Nancy demonstrates how easy sewing has
become over the years. She compares the sewing techniques from decades ago with present techniques
made fast and fun with one-task wonders and other tools made to simplify our sewing, quilting, and
embroidering.
8:30 AM It's Sew Easy "The Late Teens - Everything Had Changed" As the war ended, people dressed up
more. Coleen Swettman uses computerized embroidery technology to create free-standing lace for
accessories, collars, cuffs and trim. Women wore bloomers for sports like swimming, tennis, basketball
and bowling. Tina Givens shows how to update the original bloomers to wear today. Lynn Lunoe shows
how to create charming doll fashions faster than ever.
9:00 AM Beads, Baubles and Jewels "Stringing Projects Using Double-Drilled Beads" Author and designer
Kristal Wick has some fabulous stringing projects featuring double drilled beads. She shows how to
design coordinating necklace and bracelet using double drilled beads. Kristal also has a segment
discussing metal clay. Katie shows how to store and organize seed beads.

8:00 AM Sewing with Nancy "Nancy Zieman's Sewing A to Z, Part 1" Learn updated and easy techniques
to make your sewing and quilting more enjoyable. Nancy shares a sampling of simplified tips and
techniques from her book, Sewing A to Z. In this first part of the series she covers letters A-G with
techniques such as preparing Anchor Cloths, making Belt Loops, Cutting Out Patterns, using Double
Needles, Easing Seams, making Fabric Tubes, and using Gathers.
8:30 AM Quilting Arts "On The Surface #2" What happens when stencils fall into the hands of a rebel? In
the hands of Jamie Fingal, new colors and patterns result to create depth and texture. Learn the
Japanese art of marbled dyeing, Suminigashi, with Cheryl Sleboda. Then, break loose with Rebekah
Meier as she sprays, paints and pours dyes to create her own fabrics.

sewing techniques that are as easy as ABC? Nancy has compiled all her favorite techniques, and she
features some of the best in this program. In this second part of the series she covers letters I-P. See
techniques for using Interfacing, Lining Jacket Sleeves, stitching Knit Seams, Layering, Mitering Corners,
marking Notches, Organizing Fabric, and sewing Pintucks.
8:30 AM It's Sew Easy "The Roaring 20s" The 20's were a time to celebrate with shorter skirts and lots of
glitz. Fashionable women wore tubular styles with bare shoulders, glitter and fringe. Angela Wolf makes
a fringy tank top with today's look using knit and woven fabrics. Amber Eden shows how to sew with
sequined fabric to create contemporary sparkly fashions.

vibrant fusible fabric collage-an art quilt with character! Fiber artists Laura Wasilowski and Frieda
Anderson join Nancy to share their nature inspired artwork with a workbook approach-one technique at
a time. Learn to use bright patterned collages for backgrounds, incorporating weaving, braiding, bias
strips, and free form pieces in these small projects. A new approach to using fusibles makes these art
quilts that incorporate raw edge applique very easy to assemble.

Barry Klein shares tips and tricks to get the maximum effect. Soak up the creative spirit of writer and
artist Kathy Cano-Murillo. Author Laura Nelkin's combines novelty yarn and beads to make an elegant
bracelet. Tanis Gray makes a charming daisy applique with crystals. Vickie Howell crochets a cool cable
pattern with lofty, colorful yarn.

8:00 AM Sewing with Nancy "Art Quilts-Fusible Collage Workshop, Part 2" Make it artsy! Learn novel
embellishing that's super simple for fusible collage art quilts. In the second episode of this workshop
class, fiber artists Laura Wasilowski and Frieda Anderson and Nancy teach you to embellish your art
quilts with hand embroidery, decorative machine stitches, and whimsical stippling. They show how to
add elegant borders and wrapped bindings using decorative rotary blades for cutting.

volunteering and voting! It was a time to see and be seen as designers found inspiration in sports heroes

stunning capelet and Angela Wolf designs and sews a form-fitting gored skirt with faux suede piping that
flatters any figure.

Kazmer demonstrates making faux stones with glass glitter, inclusions and resin, and then she shows
cold surface work to mimic enameling on metal. Today's Beading Lesson is on knotting with leather.

templates for fast and fun one-patch quilting. Nancy explores traditional quilt blocks such as the timehonored tumbler. She updates the tumbler block using a super-sized template to extend block size from
four to ten inches in length-and it's speedy to stitch! Fabrics make a huge difference in the design, and
Nancy shows some contemporary variations.

quilts are easy to make using Nancy's faux-hexagon technique.
