Dear ECW Sisters in Christ,
The United Thank Offering (UTO) is a ministry of The
Episcopal Church for the mission of the whole church.
Through United Thank Offering, men, women, and children
nurture the habit of giving daily thanks to God. These
prayers of thanksgiving start when we recognize and name
our many daily blessings. Those who participate in UTO
discover that thankfulness leads to generosity. United Thank
Offering is entrusted to promote thank offerings, to receive the
offerings, and to distribute the UTO monies to support
mission and ministry throughout The
Episcopal Church and in invited
Provinces of the Anglican
Communion in the developing
world.
The United Thank
Offering Board is celebrating
its 125th Anniversary as a ministry.
Please join us in our celebration at the 2015
Triennial Meeting and General Convention in Salt
Lake City, June 25 through July 3, 2015 as we “Stir
up the Spirit” with ECW and UTO activities and
workshops. Visit our UTO office, which will be
part of the ECW secretariat, to look at our current
grants, UTO history and memorabilia and visit our
UTO booth in the Exhibit Hall.
UTO has also joined with ECW to celebrate at a
special UTO/ECW “Sharing the Celebration”
dinner on June 26th at the Radisson Hotel in Salt
Lake City. You can register at our UTO website
blog www.UnitedThankOffering.com
Join us in the UTO prayer as we pray for continued
support of our ministry of thanksgiving.
Gracious God, source of all creation, all love, all
true joy: accept we pray these outward signs of our
profound and continuing thankfulness for all of
life. Keep each of us ever thankful for all the
blessings of joy and challenge that come our way.
Bless those who will benefit from these gifts
through the outreach of the United Thank
Offering. This we ask through Him who is the
greatest gift and blessing of all, Jesus Christ. Amen.
Barbara Schafer, UTO Board President
UTO MEMORY TABLE
The United Thank Offering in celebration of our 125th
Anniversary is planning to showcase any and all UTO
memorabilia that members have obtained throughout the
years. These historical items will be displayed on the
UTO “Memory Table” in the UTO Office/ECW
Secretariat and will be a testament to the tireless work of
the women who have labored on behalf of the UTO in
fulfilling its mission. We are requesting ECW and UTO
delegates to share items they may have in their home and
bring them for our Memory Table display. These items
can be left in the UTO office as early as Wednesday, June
24th or Thursday, June 25th.
Persons interested in participating in UTO’s archival
history should contact Ms. Birdie Blake-Reid at
[email protected] no later than Friday, May
29th of the item(s) you are planning to bring so that an
identifying label can be prepared in advance. The label
will include your name, item description, year and where
item was obtained, if known. All items submitted will be
safeguarded and available for pick up the day before
(Tuesday, June 30th) or the last day of Triennial Meeting
(Wednesday, July 1st) during posted UTO office hours.
Join us in celebrating the legacy of the United Thank
Offering!
