More than 140 of the industry’s leading engineers attended the Award presentation dinner. The most prestigious award of the evening; the overall winner of the professional awards category, was presented to FAPM Member Robert Bosch Australia for their highly innovative Automatic Emergency Braking Rear (AEBRear) product. The AEB-Rear has significant export opportunities for many global platforms. AEB-Rear uses ultrasonic and radar sensing technologies combined with automatic braking to reduce pedestrian injuries and fatalities as well as unintended collisions caused when a vehicle is reversing. Automotive Transformation Scheme Amendment Bill 2014 On 25 September 2014, the Senate referred the provisions of the Automotive Transformation Scheme Amendment 2014 to the Senate Economics Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 24 November 2014. Affected students will have their entitlement to training under the VTG restored as there have been sufficient quality issues with the training they undertook and will be provided with another opportunity to undertake further government subsidised training.
