Day 1: Know Your Guide
Today’s Point: Jesus is God’s Son. He showed us how
to live.
Christ Connection: Jesus is God’s Son, sent to earth
from heaven. Jesus never did anything wrong, but He
was punished because we sinned. Jesus died on a cross
and God raised Him from the dead to be King over
everything.
Day 1
Why Jesus Came
(Galatians 4:4-5; Luke 2:8-11; Matthew 4:23-25;
1 Corinthians 15:3-5)
• At exactly the right time, God sent His Son, Jesus to be
born.
• Jesus taught people about God, healed the sick, and
fed those who were hungry. He did things no one else
could do.
• Jesus never did anything wrong. He died on a cross and
was buried in a tomb. Three days later, God brought
Him back to life.
• God made Jesus King over everything.
Day 2: Follow Your Guide
Today’s Point: Daniel chose to obey God no matter
what and is an example of how we can do the things
that are pleasing to God.
Christ Connection: Daniel chose to obey God no
matter what. Jesus obeys God perfectly and always
pleases God.
Day 2
Daniel Obeyed God
(Daniel 1)
• Daniel was chosen to live in the king’s palace.
• Daniel was given food that was against God’s law to eat.
Daniel wanted to obey God, so he asked the king’s helper
for food that didn’t break God’s Law instead.
• At the end of 10 days, Daniel and his friends were
healthier than those who ate the king’s food.
• God helped Daniel and his friends because they chose to
obey Him.

• Day 3: Trust Your Guide
• Day 4: Stay on Track
Today’s Point: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego
loved God. They obeyed Him even when it was difficult.
We can obey God, too.
Today’s Point: No matter what happened to Daniel, he
knew God would take care of Him. God will take care
of us, too.
Christ Connection: God rescued Shadrach, Meshach,
and Abednego from a fire. They obeyed God no matter
what. Jesus always obeyed God even when it was
difficult.
Christ Connection: God showed His power to rescue
Daniel from the lions. God is powerful! God also showed
His power when He raised Jesus from the dead.
Day 3
Daniel’s Friends Obeyed God
Day 4
God Took Care of Daniel
(Daniel 3)
• King Nebuchadnezzar had a gold statue built. He ordered
everyone to worship the statue or to be thrown into a fiery
furnace.
• Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego would not bow down
to the statue because they knew that they should only
worship the One True God.
• The king was angry. The friends told him that they trusted
God to save them from the furnace, but even if He didn’t,
they still would worship only God.
• The friends were thrown into the furnace, but when the
king looked inside, he saw four men walking around in the
fire without being burned!
• King Nebuchadnezzar knew that God had rescued them
and began to praise God. He told everyone to worship the
One True God, too.
(Daniel 6)
• Daniel served many kings in Babylon. King Darius even
wanted to put Daniel in charge of his kingdom. Some men
did not like this so they looked for ways to get Daniel in
trouble.
• Because Daniel wanted to please God in everything, the
men could not find him doing anything wrong.
• The men asked the king to make a law that would have
anyone who prayed to any god or person except the king
thrown into the lions’ den.
• Daniel prayed to God just as he always had. The men told
the king and Daniel was thrown into the lions’ den.
• The king worried all night about Daniel. In the morning,
the king found Daniel unharmed.
• God took care of Daniel because he obeyed God’s laws.

God Always Cares
(Daniel 10:7-12; 12:13; John 14:1-4; Revelation 22:7)
• Daniel obeyed God all his life. God sent a messenger to
tell Daniel that he was special and that God had heard
his prayers.
• The messenger also told Daniel about things that would
happen in the future. God promised to take care of
Daniel forever.
• Hundreds of years later, Jesus told His disciples about
what would happen in the future. He promised that
anyone who loves and obeys Jesus will live with Him in
heaven forever.
• Jesus promised that He will come back to earth one
day. No one knows when this will happen, but it is good
news!
This is the way.
Walk in it.
