The Global College of Engineering and Technology (GCET) is a newly established private
HE College in Oman. The College is regulated by the Omani Ministry of Higher Education
and has a collaborative partnership with Carleton University - Canada. The College
adopts international standards and is committed to excellence in teaching, learning and
research. The medium of teaching, communication and administration is exclusively in
English.
The College is urgently seeking an enthusiastic and well-qualified person to lead the
Department of Foundation Studies which plays a pivotal role in developing the students’
generic skills and in preparing them for study at higher education level through the

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Essential
Successful candidates will have:
 A Master’s degree in Education, Linguistics or a relevant field from an accredited
institution.
 Should hold a recognised English teaching qualification (DELTA or equivalent).
 A minimum of 2 years’ experience in administration and leadership in FE or HE
Institutions.
Desirables
 Experience in overseeing general English courses for beginners and elementary
levels.
 Experience in IELTS or TOEFL preparation and assessment.
 Experience in English for Academic Purposes (EAP).
