Toastmaster Youth Leadership Program Workshops: Presented by the 87FSS Librar-‐e & Resource Commons in conjunction with JB MDL Toastmasters. The library is partnering with Toastmasters this summer to host a “Youth Leadership Program” for youths ages 12-‐17. The program consists of four (4) 2-‐hour sessions at the Library, enabling participants to develop communication and leadership skills through practical experience. Students can evaluate their present public speaking ability, organize and give speeches, give impromptu talks, give constructive feedback, read stories and perform storytelling to library children, and learn voice gestures and diversity. Great experience for young people in debate classes, job interviews, public speaking and applying for college! Workshops are free and held Wednesdays at the library from 12 to 4pm on June 24, July 1, July 8 and July 15, 2015. Registration is required. Call MSgt Lorraine Cuff at 609.754.4851. Hook Up To Youth Bowling at JB MDL Dix: Presented by 87FSS at the Dix Bowling Center, Bldg. 6054 Doughboy Loop, JB MDL Dix. Program runs every Wednesday evening from 6 to 8pm for ages 7 to 17 from June 17 thru August 5. The 8-‐week bowling camp provides participants two hours of group instruction with on-‐lane lessons with experienced coaches. Upon completion all participants receive a new bowling ball, towel and bag! Awards and certificates presented during the completion party featuring party food and beverage. Hook Up to Adult Bowling at JB MDL Lakehurst: Presented by 87FSS at the Lakehurst Bowling Center, bldg. 489 Saniuk Rd. Join today and learn how to improve your game and have more fun while bowling. This six-‐week program provides participants two hours of group instruction with on-‐lane lessons with experienced coaches. Held every Thursday evening from 5-‐ 7pm from June 4 thru July 9. Upon completion all participants receive a new bowling ball, towel, bag and a game card loaded with 10 free games to continue practicing at their leisure. Golf Specials All Summer Long! Presented by 87FSS Golf Program at all three courses from June 1 thru August 31. Active duty members and their spouses enjoy special “Twilight Pricing” all day long every Monday at Falcon Creek JB MDL McGuire, every Tuesday at Pine Ridge JB MDL Lakehurst, and every Wednesday at Fountain Green JB MDL Dix. Twilight Pricing is $7 for E1-‐E4, $9 for E5-‐E9, and $11 for O1 & above. Cart rental is $8 per person if playing 9 holes; $16 per person if playing a full 18. “Bring a Friend Day” every Friday at all three courses and cart rental is half off! Two playing 9 holes and your cart is only $8 (regularly $16); two playing full 18 and cart rental is only $16 (regularly $32)! “Family Time Golf” after 2pm every Saturday and Sunday at all three courses. Kids play free, parents pay “Twilight” rate: $7 for E1-‐E4, $9 for E5-‐E9, and $11 for O1/DoD/Veterans, $8 for retired military age 65+, and $14 for contractors and guests. Cart fees extra. Free Summer Concert Series (McGuire/Dix): We’re celebrating the American pastime of backyard bliss on Wednesday, June 24 with our own “Base Backyard Party” at Doughboy Field. The Marshall Tucker Band performs in concert while you grab some grub from the food truck-‐a-‐palooza midway. Enjoy a cold adult beverage with your exotic food truck selection while the kids play in a bouncy house. After the concert, stick around and watch a pre-‐Independence Day fireworks display. Wednesday, June 3 Mandatory MilTA Briefing: Presented by 87FSS Education & Training, bldg. 3829, Falcon Courts North, Rm 206 from 8:30 to 9:30am, 1st & 3rd Wednesday of each month. In accordance with Air Force Instruction, prior to the first authorization of Military Tuition Assistance (MilTA), an airman must attend a mandatory MilTA briefing. How do I convert from one to the other? How can I transfer the benefit to family members?”, and more. This year's production, "WE SERVE" explores the foundational elements of what it means to serve, in and out of uniform, as well as how our country in return serves them. Call 609.754.2396. Saturday June 6 Skydive Tandem Jump Trip: Hosted by 87FSS Outdoor Recreation. Always wanted to skydive but never had the opportunity? Join us for an "Ultimate Adventure" trip to Freefall Adventures. During a tandem skydive you are securely fastened to your tandem instructor. After a training session, we climb to 14,000 feet (2.5 miles) above the ground and in full view of both Philadelphia and Atlantic City Skylines. Experience a 60 second freefall before working with your instructor to fly the parachute back for landing. Video/picture package available on site for additional charge; payment for this service is only through Sky Dive Company day-‐of trip. Must be 18 years and older and cannot exceed 220lb weight limit to participate. $115/person for RecOn eligible (Military and dependents), $180 for all other DoD ID holders and includes round trip transportation. This 4-‐week intermediate to advanced photo class will teach students about outdoor photography while using existing light and off camera lighting. The focus will be on portrait photography; however, the instructor will cover landscape photography as well. Students must have a DSLR camera. Dress comfortably, pack a lunch and join us for a fun photo workshop! Restrooms are available in the park.
