Send forth Your Spirit and we shall be created and You shall renew the face of the earth. On Divine Mercy Sunday, April 12th, we celebrate the unending mercy of Jesus Christ as written in the revelations of St. Faustina Kowalska (1905-1938), an uneducated Polish nun. The message is nothing new, but is a reminder of what the Church has always taught through Sacred Scripture and Tradition: that God is merciful and forgiving, and that we, too, must show mercy and forgiveness. The Macon parishes of Holy Spirit, St. Joseph, and St. Peter Claver will have a joint celebration of Divine Mercy Sunday at St. Joseph on Poplar St in Macon, beginning at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, April 12th with the Sacrament of Reconciliation followed by the Divine Mercy Chaplet. “Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” Mt. 5:7 If you have had any changes in your family please take time to update our parish records; if you’ve moved or changed your phone number, your email, or if you’ve gotten married or had a baby or any other change, please notify the office at 478.788.9820. If you consider Holy Spirit Catholic Church to be your church home, and you are not registered please fill out a green registration form, located on the tables in the narthex, and drop it in the collection basket. This is the holiest and most important week in our entire Catholic liturgical year. Please make every effort to attend as many of the various services and spiritual opportunities as you can.
