SECOND SUNDAY OF EASTER
APRIL 12, 2015
Divine Mercy Sunday
Dear Parishioners,
Well today is Divine Mercy Sunday, see the
information in this bulletin to help learn about this
devotion.
Holy Week went well thank God. Masses for
Easter were packed, with about the same number as
last year.
Thanks are extended to; the altar servers – who
serve beginning with Holy Thursday and continue
onto Easter Sunday.
We also thank the men who volunteered to have
their feet washed at Holy Thursday – that is a part of
the liturgy.
Thanks also to the four children who volunteered
for the Stations of the Cross, we almost didn’t have it
this year because of a poor response of volunteers, we
will see what kind of response there is next year.
We also thank our lectors, Eucharistic ministers
and ushers. Once again the music was beautiful
thanks to our musicians, and similarly, the church
looks beautiful thanks to hard work of the Rosary
Altar Society. And we thank our fire tenders who
ensure we have a fire for the Easter Vigil.
As is our tradition here at MPB, during the Easter
Season, the statue of the Resurrected Christ is put in
place of the Crucifix. After Pentecost Sunday, which
marks the end of the Easter Season, the Crucifix will
be returned.
And now that we move into the Easter Season, it is
good to reflect on the impact of Lent. Did you make
an adjustments that have endured? Daily prayer,
reading, trying to be Christian in speech? Has there
been a separation from some kind of sinful behavior?
One of the goals of Lent is that the efforts we make to
serve Christ continue beyond Lent. Because an aspect
of Lent is to change, to be closer to Christ in our
words and actions.
Turning back to the ordinary rhythm of the parish;
next Sunday is Donut Sunday, so hopefully we will
see you there.
Yours in the Risen Christ,
Fr. Fallon
