We live in the world where most of the maps are created for drivers. It forces
you to see the information that can get you disoriented while you are
exploring an unknown city. Of course, those maps don’t contain any
landmarks, which could help you find your way – that’s because address is
enough for GPS navigation.
We think that this is unfair. We believe that Walkers have a right to receive the
map designed especially for them. That kind of map will give you a chance to
explore hidden gems of beautiful city of Kraków.
How is FREE walking MAP different from other maps?
1. Landmarks (characteristic buildings, statues, etc.) drawn by a student of
local Academy of Fine Arts – help you to find your way around the city
2. Hidden gems, charming/unusual spots, passages accessible for Walkers only,
hardly even known by many locals and legendary local places often undiscovered by tourists. 74
3. Only two types of roads – those with small or no traffic – pedestrian zone,
and those where it is advisable to watch out for the cars.
4. Every piece of green areas marked – both parks and grasslands.
5. No artificial lines – real squares will stay squares on our map.
We hope that FREE walking MAP will be the first step to create proud
community of Walkers.
Note that FREE walking MAP is available only on the tours organized by FREE
walking TOUR in Kraków.
Have a walking day!
