From 2012 to 2014, seven major wildfires occurred in Kittitas County, resulting in the
e
decimation of more than 208,000 acres and the loss of more than 300 structures. Landowners
are realizing that wildfire is occurring more frequently Ranc
in Kittitas County and that measures
can be taken to make homes more defensible and forests h
healthier and better able to survive a
wildfire.
Join us for a Wildfire Community Preparedness Workshop on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at
Unionville Ranch (1750 Emerick Rd, Cle Elum). Landowners concerned with Kittitas County’s
recent increase in wildfires are invited to attend to learn more about wildfire, defensible space,
Fire Adapted Communities (FAC) and programs available to assist landowners with fuels
reduction. The presentations will run from 9-1 with a BBQ to follow.
