Yesterday’s Progress: Fire activity continues to
remain quiet. Winds were not as active as predicted
yesterday afternoon and evening. The maximum
velocity was recorded for the Clendinning area at
around 11:00 hrs yesterday morning (southerly 19

Today’s Progress: The Elaho wildfire remains quiet. Smoke continues to be visible in the green bowl
plantation, which is located north of the confluence of Sims Creek and the Elaho River. This area continues to
be a priority for operations, in addition to removing hotspots in the north. Firefighters were temporarily
pulled off the line in the northern division due to strong winds and the risk of falling danger trees. An
infrared aerial scan will be conducted this evening to identify remaining hotspots. Additional contract
firefighters have joined BC wildfire crews to assist in mop-up efforts.
Area Restriction Order: The Area Restriction Order has been amended as of August 5, 2015. The Squamish
Forest Service Road is closed at the 27 km mark.
