The German song, by Felix Mendelssohn, translation is: Grant unto us the peace, O Lord, grant us thy peace enduring, for there is one with strength, who could so firmly defend us. For thou art our hope and safety. The Russian song, by Sergei Rachmaninoff, is one of fifteen from the All-Night Vespers.
