Jesus’ commandment is that His disciples love one another, even to the point of
laying down their lives, if necessary. What gifts of myself—my skills and talents, my
time and resources—best demonstrate my love for God’s people?

The Adult Choir today will be singing a piece in German, Verleih’uns Friden and one
in Russian, Bogoroditse Devo. The German song, by Felix Mendelssohn, translation
is: Grant unto us the peace, O Lord, grant us thy peace enduring, for there is one
with strength, who could so firmly defend us. For thou art our hope and safety. The
Russian song, by Sergei Rachmaninoff, is one of fifteen from the All-Night Vespers. It
roughly translates the Hail Mary: Rejoice, O Virgin Theotokos, Mary full of grace,
the Lord is with thee. Blessed are Thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of
Thy womb, for thou hast bourne the Savior of our souls.

NEW BIBLE STUDY CLASS
Mary Our Queen will be offering a new 7 week Bible Study Class entitled “The
First Letter to the Corinthians”. Of the twenty-one letters in the New
Testament, “Corinthians” best gives us an insight into the life of an early
Christian community, both its problems and its blessings.
Classes will begin on Wed., June 10 from 7:15 pm until 8:15 pm
For more information, please contact Richard Germano at [email protected]
The class is free and no registration is needed.
Around the ArchdioArchbishop Gregory invites all First Communicants
and their parents to take part in the morning and/
or afternoon processions on June 6th for this
year’s Eucharistic Congress. Those who would like
to participate should wear their First Communion
dresses and suits, arrive at 8 am for the morning
procession or 4:30 for the afternoon.
This is a special moment for the First
Communicants and the church community, so
come and be an important part of the day. For
more information http://congress.archatl.com
Next week, our parish will take up the Collection for the Catholic
Communication Campaign. This collection communicates the Gospel
through Catholic social media activities and enriches our faith through
podcasts, television, radio, and print media. Half of all proceeds remain in
our archdiocese and support local needs, so please be generous .

Take a break from the Rat Race
Most of us live in a world of endless thought and restless anxiety. We must still
ourselves from time to time and be mindful of the presence of God. Prayer and
reflection can point the way to where true life never ends. Let us take time to
pray. We have an urgent need for Guardians on Fri at 3 pm, 4pm and midnight—
please contact Larry Pelkowski at 770-772-7214 or [email protected]
Thank you.
This week’s ALTAR FLOWERS were donated by
Joe & Carolyn Marczak in Memory of Victor & Lillian Marczak
A donation to the flower fund is a beautiful way to remember, honor or give
thanks for loved ones. Please check the “Altar Flower Sign-up Book” in the
Narthex for available dates. Thank you
