Please welcome Karen Ulan to Vdara Hotel & Spa as Director of Hotel Operations. Karen
is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Front Desk, Business Center, Room
Reservations, Concierge, Front Services, Housekeeping, and EVS.
Karen began her career with MGM Resorts
International in 2001 and joins us from ARIA Resort
& Casino where she most recently served as the
Director of Service Assurance. In this role, she was
responsible for the Service Assurance Department
where she reviewed and analyzed data from
guest surveys, online reviews, and other customer
feedback channels. She also led the Internal Shop
program. Using this information, she worked
closely with operating departments to develop and
implement service assurance strategies designed
to promote consistent, quality service at both ARIA
and Vdara. She also developed service training
programs to ensure both Five Diamond and Five Star
standards are delivered and maintained across the
property. Karen has also championed and led the
ARIA Campus CSR Committee as Diversity Chair
since 2011.
Prior to her most recent role, Karen served as
Director of Guest Services, where she oversaw
the daily operations of numerous Guest Service
departments at ARIA. She was also a valuable
member of ARIA’s opening team, joining the
project in 2006.
Karen also held positions at Bellagio Hotel & Casino
as Hotel Evaluation Manager, Director of Ticket
Office and Showroom, as well as Director of
Special Projects.
Karen earned her Bachelor of Science Degree
in Business Management from the University
of Nevada, Las Vegas. She is also a graduate
of the 2007 MGM Resorts Leadership Series
and is a Diversity Champion from the class
of Unity Quest #4.
