DVB-ASI multiplexer over SDTI
datasheet VENTURA VS9500-AM / VS9500-AD DVB-ASI multiplexer over SDTI The VS9500 provides multiplexing and bandwidth optimization for ASI signals over SDTI networks Applications • Professional broadcast contribution • Studio-to-studio media exchange With the most efficient use of bandwidth available, • Live sports and event contribution these products are designed to squeeze the • Metropolitan fiber networks maximum number of channels into a given payload. The VS9500 enables users to place multiple ASI signals over SDTI for up to 178Mbps of useable Key features • As a master mux, the VS9500-AM combines up to payload which can be fed to Ventura fiber and four DVB-ASI inputs into one 270Mbps SDTI (SMPTE SONET multiplexers for transport over metropolitan 305-M) output and long distance networks. • As a submux, the VS9500-AM combines up to 4 DVB-ASI inputs into one pseudo ASI transport stream (TS) for input to a master mux, facilitating the combination of up to 16 DVB-ASI TS into one 270Mbps SDTI output • The VS9500-AD provides the demultiplexing • Aggregates TS payload up to 178Mbps for maximum bandwidth in SDTI mode • Individual channel bandwidth ceiling provides total control over capacity available to client (to a resolution of 0.1Mbps per TS) R1514 Ventura VS9500-AM / VS9500-AD nevion.com Front Panel Front Panel DVB-ASI Monitor DVB-ASI DVB-ASI Monitor Automatic switchover for path diversity Stream Processing DVB-ASI Stream Processing DVB-ASI Stream Processing DVB-ASI Stream Processing Multiplexer Processing and Output Formatting ASI* / SDTI ASI* / SDTI ASI* / SDTI ASI* / SDTI DVB-ASI Demultiplexer Processing and Output Decoding 270Mbps Network DVB-ASI DVB-ASI DVB-ASI *Pseudo ASI SDTI/ASI loop-through VS9500-AM VS9500-AD Error correction and checks Remote upgrade Each ASI input is independently processed for Reed-Solomon error checking and correction. In addition all signals are monitored for DVB validity (PID, PAT, PMT, ES and SES) Supports remote firmware upgrades via the AEMS (Ventura shelf element manager) for the latest in function upgrades and fault resolution. NEBS Level 3 Each ASI input is assigned conditional access codes (2 layers) for secure content delivery, ensuring that signals are directed to the appropriate destinations. Certified to perform in Telecommunication installations providing reliable performance in harsh environments. Utilizing three-state LED’s (off, green and amber or off, green and red) payload and network faults can be quickly diagnosed providing immediate remedial guidance to in-station personnel. Fault finding tables are available with the product. External alarms Normally open relay contacts. Closed for major and minor alarm signals. Element management The Ventura AEMS shelf element managers, FCS183-AEMS and FCS101-AEMS, provide a comprehensive set of status, control and alarm variables through a Web interface. The AEMS is a powerful Linux based embedded management system that also supports SNMP and XML. It also acts as an agent for card upgrades, storing multiple images for each card in the VS103 or VS101 chassis. Users can apply these images to install upgrades from a remote location.
