Caritas Australia Project Compassion
Caritas Australia’s annual Project Compassion campaign
continues during Lent and this year’s theme is Food for
Life. Caritas Australia, through Project Compassion, is able
to support programs around the world that provide
vulnerable people with the skills and opportunities they need
to establish sustainable food sources for life. Each week,
Caritas Australia features stories from different countries
that throw a spotlight on food issues across the globe and
the challenges facing local communities. Project
Compassion boxes are available in the churches.
Fourth Sunday of Lent: Nepal
Sarita was struggling to grow enough food for her family on
her tiny farm plot. In 2007, with the assistance of a program
run by Caritas Nepal, she started a fish-raising business with
11 others. Now they have a life-long source of food and
income. Visit www.caritas.org.au/projectcompassion for
Sarita’s story and learn more about the work of Caritas
