DRAWING CONTEST THE BEAUTY OF THE POLISH TATRA MOUNTAINS artist’s name & age Polish Festival Seattle Sat, July 11, 2015 12–8pm CONTEST RULES Polish Festival Seattle Sat, July 11, 2015 12–8pm THEME SELECTION SUBMISSION AGE This year the festival will showcase the unique culture of Polish Highlanders (Górale in Polish) and the splendor of the Polish Tatra Mountains, famous for its rugged peaks, climbing, hiking and winter sports. One of the biggest attractions of the region is the highlander folklore, costumes and architecture which have continued through many generations to this day. All eligible artwork will be published on the Festival’s Facebook page facebook.com/PolishFestivalSeattle by June 30th. The winners will be selected via public online voting by July 6th. Votes will be placed by liking the artwork. The most popular artwork in each age category wins. There will also be one grand award from a panel of judges who will evaluate all the entries according to their originality, creativity and overall impression. Each child can enter one piece of artwork based on the template sheet that can be found at the Festival’s website. To protect contestant’s privacy we ask to put only the child’s first name and age on the front page of the drawing. All other information shall be provided on the back. The original artwork must be submitted by June 30th at the Polish Cultural Center. The artwork may be mailed or dropped into a marked box located on the main floor of the Polish Cultural Center. Artwork can be submitted by kids 2–14 years old. There are three different age categories: 2–5, 6–9 and 10–14. The goal of the contest is to familiarize children with Poland and Polish culture. We strongly encourage all participating kids to research the Internet and library for inspiration and information. Contest entries must be related to the specified theme. Winners for each age category will be announced during the Polish Festival Seattle on July 11, 2015. For more information visit: www.polishfestivalseattle.org.
