THOUSANDS OF DOGS AND OWNERS FLOCK TO LARGEST CANINE CARNIVAL IN AREA MGK’s 13th Annual DeBella Dog Walk Sunday May 4 from 11am to 3pm at Green Lane Park 2144 Snyder Rd Green Lane, PA 18054 Bala Cynwyd, PA (April 8, 2015): On Sunday, May 3 from 11am to 3pm, at picturesque Green Lane Park (2144 Snyder Rd Green Lane, PA 18054) in Montgomery County, 102.9 WMGK-FM morning man, John DeBella (weekdays 6a-9a) will host the 13th Annual DeBella Dog Walk, the largest canine carnival in the area. Over 7,000 people attended last year’s event, an even bigger turnout is expected this year. The Dog Walk offers dog owners the ultimate ‘doggie date’ with their four legged best friend. In addition to getting information from and making donations to the 20+ dog rescue groups and shelters on-site, owners and their dogs will have the opportunity to view and take part in various activities. Attendees will be able to enjoy entertaining dog demonstrations including ‘fly ball’ dogs, and a demonstration from the Abington Police K9 unit. Dogs can take part in interactive games such as lure coursing, musical hoops (musical chairs for dogs) and doggie tic tac toe. Photo opportunities abound as owners can take their pooch’s photo inside the “Dogs Playing Poker” painting and the Beatles 'Abbey Road' album cover (Geroge Harrison will be holding a dog leash). Both dogs and owners can win prizes in the ‘longest kiss between owner and dog contest’ as well as the ‘Simon Says’ contest. There will be two caricature artists on-site to draw pictures of the two legged and four legged. One dog will be crowned 'Mayor of Dogville' as a result of an online photo submission contest that John DeBella will be conducting at wmgk.com. In addition, there will be plenty of information available on dog health, including the ask the ‘Ask a Trainer’ and ‘Ask a Vet’ booths. There will also be three food vendors on-site. Green Lane Park boasts ample parking within short walking distance of this year’s events, acres of land to accommodate this year’s activities and prior experience in hosting dog events. John DeBella has dedicated himself to the welfare of animals throughout his over thirty years on-air in Philadelphia. He hosted the DeBella’s Dogs segment on the NBC 10! Show for years.
