Labour commit to working in an open, inclusive, honest,
compassionate and transparent manner.
A Positive Future for Kimberley
Dear Elector,
Labour will work towards even greater community
involvement in the life of the council, with an ethos that
we can achieve great things by working together.
Labour will be financially responsible and ensure robust
governance arrangements for all aspects of the council’s
business, building on the strong fiscal foundations
already in place.
On May 7th we hope you will take the opportunity to vote in the
Kimberley Town Council elections. We are asking for your support on
this important day. We would like to work hard with you to ensure a
better future for all our community. Please give us your vote.

Labour will continue to support all of our local groups and
sporting clubs who provide so much for all age groups in
our community.
Labour commit to continuing the work already being
done to support our pensioners, and would look forward
to developing this further.
Labour will value our staff and the work they do on a day
to day basis.
Labour will work to develop opportunities for joint
working and learning with our principal council and with
neighbouring councils.
Labour will work to maximise employment, social
and recreational opportunities for our community in
our drive to ensure Kimberley remains a good place
to live.

ROSIE BARTRAM: I am a Kimberley resident and love the town's
community spirit and friendly nature. I work in the Library Service, I
am also Branch Chair for Notts County UNISON. These roles have
allowed me to understand the local area, and have prepared me for
representing people's views. I am a mum of one and am keen to
promote quality education in all of our schools and to ensure that the
roads around our schools are made safer. I am a proud animal
activist and environmental campaigner and my aim is to always
ensure that there are strong animal welfare rules and the protection
of our woodland and green belt.
JIM Mc DONALD: After a successful career in the NHS, I worked in
a number of senior executive roles before moving into local politics
and the charity sector. I am delighted to have recently been
appointed chairman of a national health and social care charity. I am
very proud to have served on Kimberley Town Council over the last 4
years and to have been instrumental in modernising the council,
building partnerships and relationships, and developing a number of
key projects. I believe strongly in championing dialogue, inclusion,
empowerment and transparency, and I am committed to continuing
to work this way.

CLARE COLMORE: I have lived local to Kimberley for 25 years, I am
proud to be standing for election to the Town Council. For the past 12
years I have worked with school governors, including those from
Kimberley, to help ensure our schools give our children and young
people every opportunity to reach their potential. I am currently chair
of governors at two schools, and am passionate about the difference
that strong and caring leadership makes to people's lives.
ANDY COOPER: As a member of Broxtowe Borough Council I have
championed plans to extend the tram network from Phoenix Park to
Kimberley because I believe this would be of huge financial and
social benefit to our community. As a town councillor, in support of
our commitment to Sport for All, I have been particularly committed to
establishing Kimberley Miners Welfare Football Club on the Stag
Ground and helping Kimberley Cricket and Bowls Clubs to improve
their facilities. I believe in supporting local clubs and groups, and
making those resources available for all.
SUE COOPER: I spent most of my working life in the health service
and in recent years I have worked with a number of charities
including the Hope charity and Broxtowe women’s project, I have
also been involved in the farmer’s market and a number of other local
events. In my role as town councillor, I have particularly enjoyed
working with our pensioners. I am committed to working for the more
vulnerable and less able in our community.
COLIN SANSOM: I have lived locally since 1985, and have previous
experience as both a parish and borough councillor. Now retired
following a career in teaching, I am looking forward to serving the
community once again. I am a regular user of Kimberley Leisure
Centre and other local amenities, and I believe that such facilities are
essential in creating a strong local community.
DAVID NUNN: I taught in local schools and colleges for 35 years and
since retirement have been involved in various aspects of Great War
commemoration. Since last May it has been my privilege to chair
Kimberley Town Council having been vice chair for the previous two
years. I am proud of the way the council has managed a sound
budget whilst demonstrating financial and moral commitment to
projects benefitting a wide cross section of our community. I want to
continue working hard to make Kimberley a more tolerant and fair
place in which to live.
JEAN NUNN: I was a front line registered nurse in the NHS for 30
years and spent the last 8 years working in a Kimberley GP’s
surgery. More recently I have volunteered at a local Age Concern
lunch club. I am fully committed to public services funded by
taxation. As a Kimberley resident for nearly 40 years I care about
making the best of our local facilities for the benefit of all our people
and as a councillor I would work hard to achieve this aim.
SUSAN PAGE: I worked as a doctor at QMC for 30 years, I am
married with a grown up son and daughter and I have lived in
Kimberley for 28 years. I feel very strongly about environmental
issues, I am a keen walker and lead walks for my local Ramblers
group. I have also helped out at the DH Lawrence museum at
Eastwood. As a councillor I have been involved in plans to improve
the Parish Hall for those who use it, I have supported the tram
extension to Kimberley and been delighted to help out at the
council’s pensioner events.
