SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH NEW CARLISLE, OHIO From the Pastor’s Desk Dear Parishioners, I am happy to announce that Archbishop Schnurr has appointed Father Tom Nevels as our new pastor. He will also head up our region as pastor of Mary Help of Christians in Fairborn. He introduces himself as “Father Tom” and describes himself as a “well preserved 63-year-old.” Father Tom has lots of priestly experience. He was ordained 17 years ago and is currently completing a 12 year assignment as pastor of Our Lady of Good Hope in Miamisburg. Father Tom is from Dayton and grew up at Holy Family Parish. He was trained as an electrical engineer and worked for many years with all the trades at General Motors. Father enjoys all sports and said that playing tennis was his favorite. He wondered if he would be able to store his fishing boat in the garage as he enjoys going out on the water to relax and unwind. Father looks forward to meeting everyone at Sacred Heart and to working closely with our Spanish-speaking chaplain, Father Ariel, to care for the pastoral needs all our parishioners. The evening begins with registration at 5:30 p.m. and will be finished at about 7:30 p.m. If you are interested in attending or want more information, please call Fr. Our hearts, minds and prayers are also especially aware of the Holy Land. On Good Friday, we are called to support Christians in the Holy Land. Many Christians in the Holy Land depend on the collection for their lives. For 800 years, the Holy Land Franciscans have served in the land made holy by the life, suffering, death and Resurrection of Jesus. Together, we can support Christianity in the Holy Land. For information, visit http://www.myfranciscan.org/ourmission/the-good-friday-collection/. Please be as generous as your abundance allows. Come Pray the Patriotic Rosary on April First Do you think America needs help? Do you wonder what you can do to help our country? Join us to pray the Patriotic Rosary on Wednesday, April 1 and 15 at 7:00 p.m. in the Adoration Chapel. The Patriotic Rosary dedicates one Hail Mary in the traditional rosary to each state in the United States and asks God’s protection and guidance for the nation. Our Lady has promised to intercede for us through the rosary. “Going to confession is not like going to the dry cleaners to have a stain removed. No! It is going to meet the Father . . .” —Pope Francis Come to Divine Mercy Sunday Novena of Mercy Good Friday, April 3 at noon Stations of the Cross Followed by Divine Mercy Chaplet Sunday, April 12 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament Sacrament of Reconciliation Divine Mercy Chaplet “By the means of this image, I shall be granting many graces to souls.” (341) “All the divine floodgates through which graces flow are opened.” (699) On Divine Mercy Sunday, an image of The Divine Mercy will be blessed and displayed in the sanctuary as requested by Jesus. The image represents the Risen Christ bringing Mercy to the whole world. Please take a moment and, with gratitude and trust in God’s Mercy, remember the mystery of the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Our Lord while viewing the image. In this way, the image will be venerated as our Lord asked. Join the thousands throughout the world who have responded to this message of God’s mercy and have found hope, healing and answers to many prayers. The Feast of Mercy is a day when we should approach the Lord with great faith and trust. Don’t be afraid to ask for great things, spiritual as well as temporal. Rejoice in Our Lord’s unfathomable mercy. In 2000, after many years of study, Saint Pope John Paul II established the Feast of Divine Mercy and gave it the name of Divine Mercy Sunday. What is so special about this new Feast of Divine Mercy? It is the promise of the total forgiveness of all sins and punishment for any soul that goes to Confession and then receives Jesus in Holy Communion on the Feast of Divine Mercy! My mercy is so great that no mind, be it of man or of angel, will be able to fathom it throughout all eternity.” (699) ~ Sacred Heart Catholic Church — April 2015 ~ Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday 1 9:30a Mass 10a Coffee Klatsch 5 Easter 9a Mass 10:15a Easter Egg Hunt 11:30a Mass - Bilingual 12 Divine Mercy Sunday 9a Mass 10:15a Catechism 10:15a RCIA 1:00 Divine Mercy Devotion 6p Youth Group 19 9a Mass 10a Blood Pressure Screening 10:15a Catechism 10:15a RCIA 6p Youth Group 26 9a Mass 10:15a Catechism 10:15a RCIA 6p Youth Group 6 8:30a Mass 7 8:30a Mass 7p English Classes 7p Frassati Group for Young Adults 7:30p K of C Rosary 8p K of C Meeting 13 8:30a Mass 14 8:30a Mass 7p English Classes 7p Frassati Group for Young Adults 7p Adoration & Benediction 20 8:30a Mass 21 8:30a Mass 7p English Classes 7p Frassati Group for Young Adults 7p SVDP Meeting 7p Mass of the Lord's Supper with Washing of Feet 8p Adoration - Adoration Chapel in the Main Church 9p Bilingual Rosary - Adoration Chapel in the Main Church Friday 3 Good Friday Day of Fast and Abstinence 9 8:30a Mass 10 8:30a Mass 7p Choir Practice 7p Moms' Group - Devotions 16 8:30a Mass 17 8:30a Mass 7p Spanish Choir Practice 15 9:30a Mass 10a Coffee Klatsch 22 9:30a Mass 10a Coffee Klatsch 7p Choir Practice 23 8:30a Mass 24 8:30a Mass 7p Choir Practice 7p Moms' Group - Devotions 30 8:30a Mass Notes: 7p Spanish Choir Practice 7p Bible Study 28 8:30a Mass 29 St. Catherine of the Siena 9:30a Mass 10a Coffee Klatsch 7p Bible Study 7p Spanish Choir Practice 7p Choir Practice Saturday 4 Holy Saturday 12p Divine Mercy Chaplet 8:30p Vigil Mass 3p Liturgy of the Passion with Veneration of the Cross 7p Stations of the Cross 7p Spanish Choir Practice 7p Patriotic Rosary 7p Bible Study 7p English Classes 7p Frassati Group for Young Adults 27 8:30a Mass 7p Patriotic Rosary 7p Spanish Choir Practice 7p Bible Study 8 9:30a Mass 10a Coffee Klatsch Thursday 2 Holy Thursday 11 New WEEKEND Mass Schedule 5:30p Confession 6p Mass 7p Confessions - (Spanish) 7:15p Mass in Spanish 18 5:30p Confession 6p Mass 7p Confessions - (Spanish) 7:15p Mass in Spanish 25 St. Mark, Evangelist 5:30p Confession 6p Mass 7p Confessions - (Spanish) 7:15p Mass in Spanish Iglesia Católica del Sagrado Corazón 29 De Marzo 2015 Domingo De Ramos “De La Pasión Del Señor” Misa de 7:00 p.m. ~ Intención de Christina Maria Párroco Padre Kenneth Hummel 937-845-3121 Padre Samuel Gonzalez 513- 383-8867 Hermana Maria Stacy 937-258-1309 937-414-0185 Cristina McGrath 937-845-3121 937-823-2459 Oficina Parroquial 937-845-3121 Horario de Misas Sábado: 5:00 pm en inglés 7:00 pm en español Domingo: 9:00 am en inglés 11:30 pm en inglés Confesiones Sábados: 4:00 –5:00 pm 6:45–7:00 p.m. o haga una cita Sacramentos Para Boda: Llame P.
