The beautiful day of your child’s First Holy Communion is approaching. To follow is a list to
guide you as you and your family prepares for this wonderful Sacramental celebration:

ATTIRE: Boys – White, Navy Blue or Black suit (pant) with a white shirt and white tie or tie matching
suit color. Suit jacket/blazer preferred but optional. Dress shoes only. Absolutely no Sneakers. Arm band bow is
optional. (If you do not have a suit jacket, make sure to have a white shirt with white tie.)
Girls – White dress. (We ask that dresses without sleeves, such as spaghetti straps, include a cover-up
for the celebration of the Mass; a white cardigan sweater, bolero jacket or shawl will do.) Length of the dress
should be mid-calf or longer. Veils with either flowers or crowns are optional. Dress shoes only with modest heal
length, please.
If, for your child, you also have a flower bouquet, bag, gloves, bible and/or Rosary we ask that the
parents hold on to these items until after the Mass.

ARRIVAL: First Communicants must arrive one ½ hour before the Mass (10am/11:30am) and dropped
off at the Rectory Office. Family members are not permitted at the drop-off location due to space restrictions.
Since this is a regular Sunday Mass, Mass will begin on time – 10:30am/12pm. Please be sure that the children
have eaten prior to being dropped off at the Rectory. No food is permitted with them at the Rectory in order to
maintain the proper fast before receiving Communion.

SEATING: There will be reserved seating for the First Communicants and their families. 1 pew per
family. Pews will be marked with the First Communicants name. If there is not enough room for your whole
family to fit in the one pew, they are welcomed to join the rest of the congregation. No additional pews will or
can be reserved.

PHOTOS: Absolutely no picture taking in the Church while Mass is being celebrated. This distracts from
the celebration of the Mass and disrupts the sacredness of the Sacrament. Please share this information with
family members. Anyone disrupting the celebration of the Mass may be asked to leave the church building. At
the end of the Mass we will gather the Children for a group photo only. Afterwards we ask that all families exit
the church in order to allow for the church to be prepared for the following Mass. If possible we will try to make
accommodations in another location where pictures can be taken.

El hermoso día de la Primera Comunión de su hijo/a pronto se acerca. Al seguir hay una lista
para guiar ha usted y su familia en las preparaciones para esta maravillosa celebración
sacramental:
*VESTIR:
Niños - Traje blanco, azul marino o Negro (en pantalón) con una camisa blanca y
corbata de lazo negro o color de pantalón. Chaqueta de traje preferida pero opcional. Zapatos de
vestir solamente. Absolutamente ningunos zapatillos/ o zapatos deportivos. Banda del brazo es
opcional. (Si usted no tiene una chaqueta de traje, asegúrese de tener una camisa blanca con
corbata blanca.)
Niñas – vestido/traje blanco. (Pedimos que los vestidos sin mangas, tales como
tirantes, incluir un encubrimiento para la celebración de la Misa, una chaqueta de punto blanco, el
bolero chaqueta o chal va a hacer.) Longitud del vestido debe ser a media pierna o más largos.
Velos, ya sea con flores o coronas son opcionales. Zapatos de vestir sólo con una altura modesta,
por favor.
Si, por su hijo/a, también tiene un ramo de flores, bolso, guantes, Biblia y / o Rosario pido que los
padres se aferran a estos artículos hasta después de la Misa.
*LLEGADA: los niños/as que recibirán su primera comunión deben llegar una media hora antes de
la Misa (10am o11: 30am) a la Oficina de la Rectoría. Los familiares no son permitidos en el lugar de
retorno debido a restricciones de espacio. Dado que este es una misa del domingo, la misa
comenzará el tiempo - 10:30am o 12pm. Por favor, asegúrese de que los niños han comido antes de
ser dejados en la Rectoría. No se permite comida con ellos en la Rectoría con el fin de mantener el
ayuno apropiado antes de recibir la Comunión.
*ASIENTOS: Habrá asientos reservados para los primeros comulgantes y sus familias. 1 banco por
familia. Bancos estarán marcados con el nombre de niño/a recibiendo la primera comunión. Si no
hay suficiente espacio para toda la familia en el banco, ellos son bienvenidos a unirse al resto de la
congregación. No habrá bancas adicionales para reservar.
*FOTOS:
Absolutamente ninguna toma de fotografías en la iglesia mientras se celebra la Misa.
Esto distrae de la celebración de la Misa y altera el carácter sagrado del sacramento. Por favor,
comparta esta información con sus familiares. Interrupciones durante la celebración de la Misa puede
resultar en pedir que deje el edificio de la iglesia. Al final de la misa nos reuniremos los niños para
una foto de grupo único. Si es posible vamos a tratar de hacer ajustes en otro lugar en el que se
puedan tomar fotos.
