Welcome back to campus for Tech
Reunions 2015! I have enjoyed
connecting with many MIT Alumni
during the past year, and look forward
to meeting even more of you this week.
50th Reunion Registration and Check-In
Tech Reunions is a great way to
reconnect with MIT—not only will you
see old friends, but you will also catch a glimpse of the future.
We kick off the weekend on Thursday at Symphony Hall
with Tech Night at Pops, now in its 118th year. On Friday
campus is abuzz with Commencement, led by a freshly
minted 50th reunion class in red jackets, while proud parents
snap pictures of MIT’s newest alumni. During the day, you
can learn what’s happening at MIT through a variety of
programs, like the Cardinal and Gray Academy, lectures
and tours that Explore MIT Today, and commencement
receptions where you will meet graduates, faculty, and
alumni from your department.
Nothing highlights MIT’s historic and ongoing role in solving
some of the world’s most pressing problems like Tech Day.
This year’s program, Private Lives in an Interconnected
World, features faculty researching the data challenges and
opportunities ahead, from the personal level to the national
security space, accompanying the dramatic technological
advances in the information age.
While you are on campus, be sure to spend time with your
old friends and make some new ones too. Visit your dorm or
living group, participate in the Tech Challenge games, take
a sail on the Charles River, or cheer on your classmates at
Reunion Row on Sunday morning.
In the next few days, you will note many changes in the way
MIT looks, but you will also see that it continues to grow and
inspire some of the most creative, intelligent, and interesting
people in the world. That’s a tradition we can all be proud of.

Innovation Vladimir Bulovic keynotes an engaging series of
speakers from different corners of MIT, including Professors
Charles Stewart of Political Science, Linda Griffith of
Biological Engineering, Daniel Jackson of CSAIL, and
Jung-Hoon Chun of the Laboratory of Manufacturing and
Productivity. Program begins promptly at 9:30 a.m. Breakfast

Open to all: The Class of 1970 hosts the premiere of
November Actions by the pioneering documentary filmmaker
Richard Leacock. The film provides a fascinating account
of the complex interactions among students, faculty and
administrators in the fall of 1969, a tumultuous time. Members
of the Class of ’70 and others provided support to digitize and
restore this historic piece in the collection of the MIT Museum.

Access for People with Disabilities
Most of the campus is handicapped accessible. A map
indicating all ramps, elevators, and bathrooms is available at
the registration area on the third floor of W20. Please ask an
Alumni Association staff member if you need a wheelchair or
other assistance.
Athletics Facilities
Alumni and guests can use most athletic facilities during
Tech Reunions. Display your reunion name badge upon

SHUTTLES & ROUTES
Reunion shuttles are white mini-buses and will be identified with
electronic signs. Each vehicle can accommodate two wheelchairs
in addition to other passengers. Please note that all shuttles
may encounter delays due to traffic and possible construction in
Kendall Square.
Four vehicles will service the Tech Reunions route (marked red
on the map), and one will service the MIT Museum route (marked
blue on the map) the following hours:

MIT Museum shuttle (blue route).

The Tech Shuttle serves the MIT community weekdays all year
round. Reunion attendees are able to ride the Tech Shuttle while

Alumni staying in a dormitory will need to show a photo ID
and their reunion name badge to enter the building. Those
staying in Maseeh Hall will also receive a temporary access
card at the dorm’s front desk. Name badges must be worn to
enter the building and in all of the building’s public areas.
Dormitory front doors are always locked. Upon first arrival
at the dorm, knock to gain access from desk staff. Check-in
staff will be available until midnight. If you arrive after
midnight, the security guard at the front desk will page
on-call staff. If the security guard is not at the front desk,
call 617-253-1500 (3-1500 on any campus phone) and ask the
operator to send Unit 12 to the dormitory.

Police, fire, and medical emergencies should be directed to
the MIT Campus Police. Dial 100 on any campus phone for

MIT Medical is located at the Whitaker Health Sciences
Building, Bldg. E23, 25 Carleton St. (between Amherst St.

medical attention during Tech Reunions. Medical personnel
are available daily from 7:00 a.m.–11:00 p.m. Medical staff
is available by phone, 24 hours a day, at 617-253-4481. For
on-campus emergencies, dial 100 on any campus phone.

Campus Parking
Parking access will vary on each day. Please consult the
center foldout map for lot locations and daily hours.
Handicapped parking is available in Kresge Lot. On
Thursday and Friday, an attendant will be at Kresge until
2:30 p.m. After 2:30 p.m., alumni can use parking cards
to enter lots. Designated handicapped spaces are also
available in other Tech Reunions parking lots.
MIT is not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged vehicles.
Do not leave items exposed inside your vehicle. Lock all
valuables in the trunk.

Tech Reunion Shuttles
Reunion shuttles will be available to alumni and guests
throughout Tech Reunions. Shuttle routes will cover MIT
campus and the Hyatt, Marriott, and Le Meridien hotels.
Shuttle service on Friday afternoon, June 5, will transport
alumni and guests to Boston for the fraternity, sorority, and
living group open houses. Buses will be available for special
events including Tech Night at Pops. Please consult the
center foldout map for details.
MIT Tech Shuttle (weekdays only)
The MIT Tech Shuttle, a shuttle serving the MIT community,
runs on weekdays. It begins its route in Kendall Square and
runs 6:15 a.m.–7:10 p.m.
SafeRide (evenings)
SafeRide provides free evening and late-night transportation
at night within and around the MIT Campus. During
reunions, SafeRide will operate Thursday, June 4, through
Sunday, June 7, 6:00 p.m.–3:00 a.m. This is available to all
