respect for all road rules and for the Cairns community.

Expectations and Important Points
The school athletics day is a compulsory school day whether students choose to compete or simply cheer their
teams on. Under the school’s attendance policy any student not in attendance must contact the school on the
student absence line 40503066. A reminder that student attendance is calculated on real attendance plus any
medical certificates received, students must remain above 92%.
Students will not be allowed to leave Barlow Park at any stage during the day.(Only students with Doctor or
Dentist appointments cleared with Admin in the days prior to the carnival will be allowed to leave – no
notes to leave will be accepted on the day). Late arrivals must report to the Admin person on site, located at
the announcers box.
Students are expected to remain within house areas when not competing
No food or drink will be allowed within the competition areas
Standard school rules apply and normal consequences apply to breaches of those rules - students are
expected to conduct themselves in the same manner as they would at school.
To participate and have fun, there are many events on the day including exhaustive heats of the 100m, tribal
wars and cheer squads.
Hopefully this has answered any questions regarding the coming athletics carnival. If you require
further information please contact Sport Coordinator Joel Camp on 4050 3031.
