What a great response from new players wanting to umpire! Our junior rules discussion was such a huge
success, we had an overwhelming amount of kids attend. They we very enthusiastic and it was so good
to see them all out there having a go.
A big thank you to all the support parents, coaches etc. for helping write this programme, without your
help we would not be able to do this!
To all players and spectators etc. Please be aware that we do have learner umpires and to be a bit patient
as we cannot have a game of netball without our umpires.
It is also not acceptable for players to swear at and argue with umpires and any player doing this will be
reported to the committee, for them to deal with as they see fit. This did happen on a junior game!
The rule of the month is:
Short Pass: Rule 13.6.1
i. On the court: at the moment the ball is passed there must be room for a third player to move between
the hands of the thrower and those of the receiver.
ii. At the throw in: at the moment the ball is passed there must be room on the court for a third player to
move between the hands of the thrower and those of the receiver.
The next Junior rules discussion is on Wednesday 23rd July. Forms are available online and at Cairns
Netball. Please we encourage that we get as many juniors to come along and try something new!
