Impression - State of the Art
In modern dentistry almost every prosthetic restoration is
dependent upon a model.
This model is the link - „the database“- between the dental practice
and the dental laboratory. If this link includes any errors, it may trigger
a chain reaction that involves undesired effects:
•Restoration needs to be separated
•Restoration needs to be adjusted in a time-consuming process
•Additional costs will arise
•Chairside treatment of the patient is extended - further appoitments are required
In particular implant restorations require utmost precision since the
implants are not able to compensate tension in the way natural teeth
are able to and hence the long-term success of the restoration is put at
risk.
Moreover patients generally make high demands on wearing comfort
and esthetics of their restorations.
A modern impression system must therefore fulfill the following

The following result was obtained from a study carried out at the University of Basel:
„Differences in the measuring section range and in the die
diameter could be determined for the tray types. The metal
tray produced the most inaccurate results. The plastic tray
of bredent frequently produced the best results and the
second best results were obtained for the individual
tray.“ *

The new brecision implant heavy has been optimized to meet the requirements of implant dentistry. In the case of open impressions, it ensures reliable fixation of the implant impression abutment
and in the case of closed impressions it enables safe repositioning of the impression abutment.

Thanks to its thixotropy, brecision implant light provides highly accurate reproduction of details for
impressions of esthetically demanding regions. As a result it is the perfect material for double-mix
or correction impressions.
Flexible use:
Monophase impression
The monophase impression for less demanding esthetic restorations, such as in edentulous
ridges, free-end restorations, etc. can be easily
and safely taken using brecision implant heavy.
Double-mix impression
If restorations need to have a highly esthetic
appearance and a very precise impression of the
gingival situation is needed, the double-mix impression technique using brecision implant heavy
and brecision implant light is recommended.
Correction impression
If a correction impession is to be performed,
putty soft is used for the first impression. This
material can be perfectly combined with the correction material brecision implant light which is
used for the second impression.

An abrasive natural diamond grit (125 µm) ensures swift removal of material at the crown die. A fine diamond grit f (40 µm) at the tip of the tool prepares and finishes in a single work process.

Determine the position for the hole in the
center of the occlusal surface using a waterproof pen.
Drill a hole through the crown with the
Multidrill twist drill 1.7. Cooling with water is
required during drilling.
The previous drillhole is enlarged in the
basal area using the Rapidy Microbur 1.4 in
order not to subsequently tap a thread into
the dentin.
Use the tap M2 to cut a thread into the
crown. For this pupose use the manual adapter
or the angle (max. 5 rpm).
Turn the set screw carefully into the thread
and lift the crown using the manual adapter,
a ratchet and the ratchet adapter or the angle (slow speed).

If the primary structure or the abutment is too weak/
thin for a thread, splinting with Security-Lock provides
a comfortable and convenient solution. For this purpose
the thread is integrated into the secondary structure:

The transfer matrices are now in the total
impression. Retention grooves ensure the firm
position of the transfer matrices in the impression material.
Prior to the fabrication of the model, laboratory implants are inserted into the transfer
matrices. This way precise transfer of the
position of the implants is guaranteed.
A special angle measuring device represents
the range of tolerance of the vks-oc system. In
this example the deviation of the implants lies
within the range of tolerance. Accordingly,
supply with the vks-oc rs system is possible.
After successful osseointegration of the
implant, the mucous membrane is opened
and the suitable vks-oc abutment is screwed
in. The torque must be limited to 30 Ncm by
using a vks-oc screwdriver.
Abutments in the distance heights of 2, 4 and
6 mm are available. Distance sleeves are not
required. The stud abutments can also be used
as gingiva formers. Prior to taking the impression, place the transfer matrices onto the stud
abutments.
The model precisely shows the position of the
implants. Normally, the implants have not
been inserted in an entirely parallel position
to each other so that divergences or convergences between several stud abutments
result.
The vks-oc system accepts maximum deviations of 15 ° to the planned angle of insertion.
To determine the deviation from the vertical
axle, axle abutments are placed onto the
abutment analogue.

Fixed bridges for immediate restorations
The SKY fast & fixed system components with 0° and
35° angled abutments have been especially developed
for primary splinted structures to allow fast fabrication
of occlusal screw-retained temporaries for immediate
treatment of patients. In conjunction with the new, stateof-the-art blueSKY titanium implant from bredent medical
with sandblasted and etched surface, successful implant
placement is guaranteed.

A growing number of patients with considerably damaged residual dentition refuse to have implants placed because

has been approved for dental use since February 2006 and has been
added as an entirely metal-free variation to the successful SKY implant
system which offers superior biocompatibility and outstanding aesthetic
characteristics.

bredent medical adds the «brezirkon» whiteSKY to their successful SKY titanium implant system. The brezirkon material is a hot isostatic pressed, high-strength zirconium oxide ceramic
with a flexural strength of 1.250 MPa. whiteSKY is suitable for interdental spaces and single
tooth replacement.
The design of whiteSKY, a conical implant body with a cylindrical, self-cutting
double thread allows to achieve perfect primary stability. Bone condensation comparable to
bone spreading is achieved by the use of conical drills. The geometry of the thread in conjunction with the microstructured surface of the implant ensure complete osseointegration. All
requirements of DIN standard EN ISO 14801 are met. Ra: 0.9 – 1.0 µm

In unseren Studien1) haben wir festgestellt,
dass sich Zirkonimplantate wie vergleichbare
Titanimplantate verhalten, d.h. beim Einsatz sollten
die gleichen Kautelen zugrunde gelegt werden. Wir
setzen daher die einphasigen Zirkonimplantate so
ein, wie sofortversorgte Titanimplantate:
• Sehr genaue präoperative Planung
• Ausreichend Knochenangebot
• Zweizeitige augmentative Verfahren,
falls notwendig
• Primärstabilität von 30 bis 45 Ncm
Besonders wichtig ist für uns die provisorische
Versorgung. Wir gehen dabei wie folgt vor:
• Große Kontaktflächen mit den Nachbarzähnen
• Kein Okklusionskontakt, auch nicht unter
Belastung.
• Verblockung mit Nachbarzähnen durch SäureÄtz-Technik
• Enges Recall in den ersten 6 Wochen zur Überprüfung der Verblockung.
