ICT is one of the main pillars in the Economic Transformation Program to progress Malaysia to a HighIncome country by 2020
•
Although the Malaysian IT market is one of the most developed markets in the region, the sector is
expected to expand with an average of 7% until 2019
•
A.T. Kearney's International top 10 rankings of countries for offshore location attractiveness places
Malaysia as the third most suitable country for outsourcing business after India and China
•
The main drivers for choosing Malaysia as a ICT hub is the low operation costs, accessibility to skilled
labour (local + foreign), good internet infrastructure, low energy costs and possibility of 100% foreign
ownership for MSC status companies
•
Some of the worlds largest ICT companies are benefiting from Malaysia as a critical ICT hub, both for
manufacturing, R&D and data centres. They include Apple, AT&T, eBay, Google, Hewlett-Packard,
Microsoft, Oracle and Qualcomm. Danish companies operating here includes Dong Energy, Sitecore,
SEB, etc.
•
In recent reports, the next game-changing trend transforming the country’s ICT industry includes social
media, cloud and big data. Application deployment, connectivity infrastructure and embedded device
manufacturing are also areas of rapid growth.

” Sitecore is the global leader in customer experience management
software that lets marketers own the experience they deliver to their
customers and prospects. Sitecore began its business activities in
Malaysia in early 2015 and we are now expanding our operations in
Malaysia where we expect to reach 100 employees before summer
2016. Thanks to our partners and Sitecore’s MSC status, we have
managed to avoid the normal ‘red tape’ which has enabled us to focus
on our main reason for establishing our business in Malaysia: Access
to highly qualified and ambitious employees that can participate in
making Sitecore an even better product and company. The Sitecore
office located in down-town Kuala Lumpur focuses on product
development (.NET programming) as well as providing Sitecore
training, customer support and sales to our APAC customers”
Thomas Starlit
Sitecore Manager Malaysia
“In 2012 DONG Energy IT Malaysia was incorporated in Malaysia and currently
has 70 employees in Kuala Lumpur providing software development and IT
services to DONG Energy.
DONG Energy IT has IT locations in both Warsaw, Poland and in Malaysia.
Our company in Malaysia serves as an IT solution delivery hub attracting
resources from the South East Asian region to work for DONG Energy IT
Malaysia.
We are enjoying the Malaysian government sponsored investment incentives
for MSC status companies in Malaysia such as company tax incentive and
immigration “fast track”.”
