We would like to thank you, all the competitors, owners, trainers, parents, grooms, and sponsors, for choosing to be part of Blenheim EquiSports. With your support, we have achieved our goal of providing the best competitions at the highest quality venues. Standards are important to us and we constantly strive to be better. We embrace challenges and new ideas. Keeping this in mind, we have worked to simplify our prize list, improve time management, and streamline the scheduling process to create a more seamless integration. Young Jumpers, our future champions, will continue to get the support they need with discounted stabling and waived entry fees in their respective divisions. This season, however, they will be provided the opportunity to enter an additional class, compliments of Blenheim EquiSports. Interactive Mortgage is also reaching further to promote young horses and riders by adding more qualifying classes and increasing the prize money for the finals in Las Vegas. The Olympic Qualifying Trials for the 2000 Sydney Olympics and the 2004 Athens Olympics were held at our facilities. Young equestrians from all levels and disciplines watched in awe of the expert horsemanship and skilled athleticism transpiring before their eyes. Many of those young equestrians are now professionals bringing forward the new generation of champions. The future of the sport is bright. We are privileged to be part of its enrichment for our young people, our community, and our country. From World Champion Hunters and Pony riders to World Cup Jumpers and Equitation riders, we delight in witnessing the enthusiasm and progress within our growing community. ASSUMPTION OF RISK: By signing the entry blank, the Owner, Lessee, Trainer, Manager, Agent, Coach, Driver, Rider, Handler, Vaulter or Longeur acknowledges that horseback riding, particularly jumping, is a dangerous activity and involves inherent risks that may cause serious injury and in some cases death because of the unpredictable nature and irrational behavior of horses, regardless of their training and past performance and expressly assumes all such inherent risks whether identified herein, in the entry blank or in the Federation Rules and Regulations. A horse, without warning or any apparent cause, can buck, stumble, fall, rear, bite, kick, run, make unpredictable movements, spook, jump obstacles, step on a person’s foot, or push a person--all of which may cause the rider or observer to fall or be jolted, resulting in serious injury or death. A horse may also become loose and cause injury to an observer or rider or to another horse – a loose horse can run at full gallop in a panic and run into objects or persons or other horses. The Show Ground Facilities are bordered by highways/roads and thus noise from traffic and other sources occurs that can and will cause a horse to unexpectedly spook or react quickly. The Show Ground Facilities contain roads and driveways that are traversed by cars, golf carts, tractors, trailers and heavy equipment all of which may spook a horse. The above warnings and risks are meant as an example of some of the risks that are inherent and may be encountered but it is agreed this is not an exhaustive list and there are numerous additional conditions and/or events that may result in injuries while participating in the Competition and/or being present on the Show Ground Facilities. 13.
