Inside Panther Night
We are very excited to be getting back on the field
after a very successful 2011 season, including last
year’s run to the Quarterfinals and a 10-2 record. Our
coaches and our squads are looking forward to a great
season and hope you will be a part of it on Friday
nights. I would like to thank the WCHS Administration, the 12th Man, the Panther Football Alumni Association, and the WCHS Athletic Booster club for
all of their help and support. In addition to these groups I would like to
thank our coaches, their families, our players and their parents for all of
your hard work, time, and support.
Our players have finished a successful summer of workouts in the weight
room, on the track and using our contact days on the practice field.
Our players have competed in 7 on 7 competitions and went through a
challenging I.S.U. Camp. They have gained strength, speed and size that
they are waiting to put to use under the Friday night lights.
Thanks to all of the volunteers that make all of our events so special.
The seventh annual Panther 7 on 7 passing tournament and lineman
challenge directed by Joe Bullard, was a great success and remains one of
the top around the state. This was all due to the hard work of our parents
and volunteers on that day. The 12th Man Golf outing was as always a very
fun and successful event due to outing director Jim Linsley and all of our
volunteers, golfers, and donors who made this day so special. The hog roast
and first scrimmage went well and was run smoothly again by our parents
and volunteers. Thanks go out to Russ and Linda Harrell for coordinating
the event, Curt Zehr for the hog and Brian Bell for cooking it. I would also
like to commend our players on the great job they did running a youth football clinic for our future Panthers prior to the scrimmage. Inside Panther
Football was a great success, thanks to all our volunteers and Ken and
Mindy Hopp who did a fantastic job coordinating of it.
Brad Fuller
Community Rep.
In closing, I would like to thank 12th Man president Ken Hopp for all
of his dedication, hard work, and help. Thanks to Rich Burke, and John
Fisher for their work on the Panther Media Guide.

12th Man
Hello Panther Fans!
12TH MAN
On behalf of the 12th Man Organization, I would like to welcome you to
Babcook Field, home of our Washington Panthers. This will be the
89th season for Washington Panther Football and I am sure that this
will be another exciting and successful football season!
The Washington 12th Man was organized in 1983 by Charlie
Fuller and a small group of very dedicated individuals. Over
the years the 12th Man has invested thousands of dollars in our
football program and players, as well as other sports and organizations here at Washington Community High School.
I would like to thank all the volunteers and members who
have generously supported our programs over the years.
Their contribution of time and money has made it
possible for our student athletes to have the best
equipment and facilities, enabling them to have
a positive and memorable experience.
An example of the community coming together
and supporting Panther Athletics is the PantherPlex. Through block donations, community
support and countless volunteers that dedicated
many hours of labor and building materials, our
athletes have a state of the art facility. This facility has a
college level locker room, training room, film break down
room, new concession stand, public restrooms and game viewing
room/deck. I would like to thank everyone who has supported this
project!
This summer marked the 24th Annual 12th Man Golf Outing and
Steak Dinner. It was another successful event and all participants
had a great time. This is a huge fundraiser for the 12th Man and can
only be made possible by Jim Linsley and the numerous volunteers that assisted him.
Along with our annual 12th Man Golf Outing, the 12th Man organizes the Washington Panther 7 on 7
Tournament, a Hog Roast for the First Scrimmage and Inside Panther Night. For this year’s 7 on 7
Tournament, 28 teams competed and 200 players participated in the Lineman’s Challenge. Many
thanks to Joe Bullard who organized the 7 on 7 Tournament, Russ and Linda Harrell who organized the
Hog Roast, Mindy Hopp who organized the Inside Panther Night and to the many volunteers who made
all our preseason events successful.
Our Washington community should be very proud. Many communities struggle to hold just one event
like these, but due to the selfless volunteers and support we have here in Washington, we are able to
accomplish great things to support our athletes. If you would like to be a part of this great organization
here at Washington High School and become part of a great tradition, we welcome your participation.
Please visit the 12th Man page on the Panther Football Alumni Association website
