The recipients vary from year to year. They may be seasoned, or they may be young; they may be a worker or a retiree. However, there will always be qualities that all of them have in common, qualities such as the need to try to make the world a better place. She is a leader who leads best by example. She will use her life as a sermon without ever having to say a word. The Woman of the Year is a guiding light to those around her. She is ablaze with hope, charity and love for her sisters as well as mankind. She is an inspiration to all around her. 2013-2014 Woman of the Year Gwen Durouseaux with family and friends Local Founder’s Day The NAUW St. Landry Branch members celebrated their Annual Founder’s day Ceremony on January 17, 2014 at Little Zion Baptist Church in Opelousas, LA.
