Recent grants have allowed the conservation of a late eighteenth century painting of Hereford from the Wye, by an unknown artist, and of a painting of the Gallipoli landings at Herefordshire Light Infantry Museum; the digitisation of works by Joshua Cristall in the Hereford Museum Collection; and the restoration of a seventeenth century Commonwealth seal in Hereford Cathedral Library and Archive. We helped fund Hereford Cider Museum’s new exhibition Pomona which includes important historical books on fruit cultivation and identification. The original exquisite watercolours for the Herefordshire Pomona and a fine portrait of the seventeenth century diarist John Evelyn, which has been loaned to the Cider Museum, are also on display.
