From the Coach
I am pleased to share with you our 2005 end of the year report. We have
been busy both on and off the field as we help make a difference in the
Greater Cincinnati region. I hope this report will share the things we
have been working on to help create positive change.
I am extremely proud of the work we have done in such a short time,
which has reached over 62,000 Cincinnatians. The support and
generosity of all the organizations and individuals who helped the fund
with their time, resources, and passion has been overwhelming.
On behalf of the staff, Board of Directors, my family, all those we serve,
and myself, I would like to extend a sincere thanks to every individual
that has contributed to the Fund in some way or another. If you have yet
to become involved in the organization, I invite and encourage you to be
a part of our team.
With Sincere Thanks,
Marvin Lewis

Award presented by National City for his achievements both on and off the
field. He led his team to their first play-off game in 7 years and helped raise his

Cincinnati Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of
Fame Scholar-Athletes Banquet.
Hometown Huddle
An NFL initiative geared towards promoting volunteerism in the community.
This takes place in all 32 NFL markets on the same day. In collaboration with
United Way, Home Depot, the Cincinnati Bengals, Baker Concrete, Outback
Steakhouse, Best Buy, OCG, Garrick Co., GBBN Architects, Landscape Associates,
and others, we helped create a “Pars Course” at Children’s Hospital College Hill
Campus. The course was designed to help in the rehabilitation process of the
patients at the hospital. More than 35 Bengals players and staff, 300 volunteers,
and $220,000 were put into this project that will benefit many young people
and the community for years to come.
ProScan Pink Ribbon Women’s Center
Funded by the Marvin Lewis Community Fund, the Cris Collinsworth ProScan
Foundation, and the Anthony Muñoz Foundation, The Women’s Center provides
breast cancer early detection screenings for low-income, uninsured women in
Over-the-Rhine. Proceeds from the annual Prep Classic support this initiative.
In 2005, the ProScan Pink Ribbon Women’s Center
helped more than 31 women.

SUCCESS BY 6
As a community initiative focusing on early childhood development,
SUCCESS BY 6 strives to ensure that all children, ages 0 to 6, are healthy
and ready to succeed by the time they start kindergarten.
With support of the MLCF, we created a developmental
milestones fact sheet that informs parents about the
developmental stages and tips for making sure their
children are developing at the right place.

Coaching Clinic
Held at Paul Brown Stadium, the Marvin Lewis NFL/NFF Coaching Clinic
presented by National City features the Bengals coaching staff as well as
area high school and college coaches instructing nearly 200 youth, junior
high, and high school football coaches. Coaches learn more than just the x’s
and o’s of football, including teaching and leadership skills, nutrition, proper
fitness training, community involvement, and the need for their
commitment to education.
Inner City Youth Football Collaborative (ICYFC)
The ICYFC strives to keep young people involved in team sports through
supporting, encouraging, motivating, and inspiring them to stay focused
and succeed on and off the field. In just a few short months over 2,000 inner
city youth football players belonging to the American Bantam, National, and
Buckeye leagues have been impacted. Through the generosity of the
Cincinnati Bengals, players, alumni, OCG, Hatton Foundation, CPS, CRC, the
MLCF, and other contributing partners, we purchased over $50,000 in safe
equipment, created an academic rewards program, and helped offset
league costs.
Youth, Inc.
While providing a safe and structured environment, Youth, Inc. helps troubled
youth make positive choices for the future. Licensed by the Ohio Department
of Jobs and Family Services it caters to children ages 7 - 18. The Juvenile Courts
of Hamilton County place children with Youth, Inc., a housing alternative,
rather than the Juvenile Justice System.
Through Youth, Inc.’s “Thinking-error” program,
59% of their children are successful.
