It’s our new standard performance cycling jersey, the successor to and evolution of the legendary
SS.Uno jersey.

HOW TO USE IT?
Always in combination with the ASSOS interactive body insulator.3 as the first layer, directly on your
skin. This allows your SS.1 to operate perfectly.

body insulator underneath.
ENGINEERING
ASSOS rarely releases a new product with just new graphics. While we love and admire great new
looks, we don’t really care unless there is technological substance within. By introducing the new
SS.1, we are further perfecting the term “ASSOS performance cycling jersey” and elevating our standard jersey to new heights.
THE CONSTRUCTION
The SS.1 features 31 parts: 4 textiles, 15 patterns, 12 components. NEW Type.vX121 custom-made ASSOS
fabric, specifically developed for the SS.1, insulates, protects and maintains your body temperature.
The idea of using spandex textile for the arm panels was first introduced by ASSOS in the early 90’s
with the SS.1’s grandfather, the mod.Uni. On the SS.1 we have further perfected the fit, by pattern
design and type of textile used.

Type.vX121 feature two unique surfaces, but nevertheless is a single-layer textile
that provides extreme pull and push characteristics. How? Low volume, triple
microfibre filament technology combined with a brand new mechanical weaving
technology.
149g/m2 Light, non-restrictive, total comfort performance.
34% (!) faster drying process, compared to previous generation ASSOS plasma fabric.
Permanent Antibacterial Treatment. Why? Human sweat degrades the fabric and
its special qualities. By protecting the fabric from bacterial attack, we preserve its
specific properties, increase its lifespan and reduce odours.

WHAT IS IT?
THE CONSTRUCTION
It's the new generation of, and the long awaited successor to, the ASSOS superlight sleeveless jersey.
Finally! Available in two specific pattern designs: Unisex & Lady.
Not just for those few days of extremely warm summer riding conditions. Instead, when used in combination with additional layers, it can function as a superLeggera gilet, an outfit range extender for
your ASSOS wardrobe. On a warm spring or cold summer day, use your superLeggera in combination
with a longsleeve ASSOS interactive body insulator underneath. Very nice, indeed!
New textiles, new pattern design. The superLeggera (unisex) features 36 parts: 5 textiles, 19 patterns,
12 components. The superLeggera is engineered using the ASSOS cycling-specific science of bodymapping pattern design, which is applying specific textiles to suit specific applications. Hence, the
wind-exposed front panel construction is a bit heavier than the rear panel construction, which has
the objective of protecting you from the sun’s rays but in as light a manner as possible.
New Type.vX121 custom-made ASSOS fabric is used on the front panel. It insulates and protects you
properly from oncoming winds but feels light enough so as not to bother you. The rear mid-panel features ASSOS-patented Stabilizator technology, meaning the central panel blocks vertical stretch, preventing the jersey fit from sagging and providing an ideal “click on” fit. The side panels are made out
of ultralight 4-way contour stretch fabric.

safety pocket.

as a whole.
For this new superLeggera, we started off by designing a complete new pattern design to best suit
the sleeveless application. Available in two specific pattern designs: Unisex & Lady (petite). Anatomical
fit, pre-shaped, ergonomically correct. Tailored to fit the body in the cycling position. Clicks on, and
just feels right.

THE CONSTRUCTION
In the world of cycling apparel, patents are very rare. In the case of the T.Lady s5, two lady-specific
ASSOS innovations have obtained a patent.
First is the ABC Closure System specifically engineered to fit a woman’s body, creating the perfect female fit solution for bib construction. Providing total wearing comfort, by means of the Y-panel design
that contours in-between instead of over the breasts, it incorporates the ABC Closure System, which
allows you to tailor the bib length to your liking and to more easily dress / undress.
The second patent is for the construction of the leg grippers. Instead of full-circumference leg grippers,
ASSOS developed a sewing construction that allows half-circumference grip without losing stability.
Why? Because the female body naturally stores bit more fat in the thighs, and the leg grippers on female shorts often provoke an esthetically unpleasing picture. Not anymore! Now women can enjoy a
proper leg fit – the shorts stay in position – without the unflattering skin impressions.
The heart of any shorts is the protection insert, and the T.Lady features the legendary ASSOS custom
elastic interface insert. It is the result of a six-month field analysis in which 112 female cyclists participated, back when ASSOS first launched the Comfort Revolution (first elastic insert) over 10 years
ago. Since then, the ASSOS Lady insert has been refined and perfected, today featuring s5 waffle
technology that makes it 35% more breathable.
CAMPIONISSIMO AEPD
Lady specific pattern design takes into account female physiology and proportions. The T.Lady is preshaped, ergonomically designed to fit your anatomy correctly in the tuck cycling position. At ASSOS
we strive to obtain these results with as few panels as possible, placing the necessary elastic seams
where you won’t feel them, but sufficient to allow the garment to function properly, enhancing your
comfort and performance. Tailored to contour and protect your body intelligently, without restriction,
the T.Lady provides total freedom of mind and movement.
THE KEY FABRIC
Like all the other s5 generation of shorts, the T.Lady features the Type.434 custom textile blend, a
fabric specifically designed and engineered for cycling applications by ASSOS Textile Lab Lugano. This
fabric is not commercially available. Why a custom fabric? Because, for us, the fabric characteristics
needed to produce high performance cycling shorts are unique, and it’s not acceptable to use a standard, and less expensive, off-the-shelve spandex blend.
The Type.434 features:
- frameReturn powerMatrix — superFlat macrodimension fibre, enabling extremely dense knitting
construction per square inch, controlled elasticity and return stretch, hence more soft muscle compression, more protection in case of a crash and more resistance to abrasion.
- ASSOS iceColor technology — reduces heat absorbtion, keeping you cooler, enhancing endurance
and performance. UV 50+
- P.A.T. — Permanent Antibacterial Treatment. Inhibits bacterial formation, increasing hygiene, prolonging fabric performance and features, and reducing odours.
CONCLUSION
The new T.Lady provides ASSOS shorts technology specifically tailored to accommodate the female
body. A true value when intelligent riding comfort and protection is required.
