Setup DJI Phantom BEC connector:
The RX100 mount uses power of the DJI Phantom battery. Therefore the BEC connector
needs to be soldered under the phantom (you don’t have to open the Phantom).
Note: While it is quite easy to do, if you’re not able to any solder or haven’t any experience
with it than its better that u use a local model building dealer (for them it’s a 2 minute job).
Note 2: For Phantom 2 (different wires):
Red from RX100 mount goes to red of Phantom 2 wire.
Black from the RX100 mount goes to the brown wire of the Phantom 2.
Step 1: Turn around your DJI Phantom. You will notice 2 small wires (held in its place by a
rubber ring) where the arrow is pointing to in the picture.
2
Step 2: Pull out the wires gently with a forcep (pincette)
Step 3: Strip the wires for about 5mm
Step 4: Tin the cable with your soldering iron
Step 5: Notice that the pin will fit only in one way
3
Step 6: Grab a small needle nose pliers and fold the middle tabs around the tinned cable
Step 7: Fold the end tabs around the cable shield
4
Step 8: Do the same with the other connector
Step 9 (optional): You could re-tin the wire to solder it together with the pin.
Step 10: Take the plastic BEC cover with the holes towards front (it is important so that+ will
be connected to +)
5
Step 11: Make sure you put the red wire below, but do not yet push it all the way
Step 12: Make sure you put the grey wire above the BEC connector
Step 13: Now push the pins all the way through the connector till you hear it ‘click’.
6
Step 14: Test the connector by connecting it to the RX100 mount (without an battery in the
Phantom) and see if the wires are connected correctly (red/red and grey/black)
Mount the Sony RX100 camera:
Step 1: Make sure the control liver (the white bar with the screw on the end) is all the way
down as shown on picture below:
7
Step 2: Now you will be able to turn the plate as shown on picture below
Step 4: Take the RX100 camera and positioning it on the plate as shown in below image
(make sure the screwhole and the hdmi connecter is visible)
8
Step 5: Take the included bolt and turn it into the whole, so that the camera is locked well on
the plate as shown on the image below
Step 6: Now connect the HDMI plug into the HDMI connecter as shown on below image
9
Step 5: Now you can set the plate right up again, for the next step its best you pull the screw
on the white bar 1mm up to lock the camera on its place to make sure the RX100
camera/plate won’t fall down
Mount the shutter to the RX100 camera
Step 1: Place the shutter onto the camera as shown on the image below (make sure the
screws on the shutter are untied)
Step 2: Tighten the screws shown on below image with fixed-dose strength (not with force)
10
Placing the RX100 mount on the DJI Phantom
Step 1: Make sure you have locked the camera with the include bolt on the plate, that you
have correctly placed the shutter onto the camera.
Step 2: Place the Phantom above the RX100 mount and place the mount on the left side on
the landing gear as shown on below image.
11
Step 3: The landing gear of the Phantom is quite flexible. The the right landing gear and plull
it with fixed-close strength aside and place the RX100 mount on its place as shown on the
image below
