Gillys’ Bistro and Beer Emporium is located in the main street
of Hamilton. Gilly’s conference centre is situated at the rear
of the building and accessible through the bistro or via its
own separate entrance on McLuckies Lane, parallel to Gray
Street.
Gilly’s bistro provides a breakfast and lunch menu from 7am
to 3pm, morning tea and afternoon tea 6 days per week and
dinner 4 nights a week. Our conference centre can be made
available when ever it may be needed, any day or night of
the week. Our specialist catering service includes a menu
and bar package designed specifically for your event, total
catering management and specialist staffing if required.

Grampians Retreat hosts a wide variety of groups, including
corporate bodies, family celebrations, school adventure
camps, relaxed holiday stays, outdoor enthusiasts, professional
development seminars, international visitors and whatever
other purpose a group chooses for our venue. This tranquil,
secluded property offers your organisation sole access to these
private surroundings.

Our Retreat in the Southern Grampians is set on 32 hectares,
surrounded by Mt Abrupt, river flats and natural bushland.
Wander among the red gum giants, stringybark forests and
native grasses, alongside kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas and
other native wildlife.

Heated cabin accommodation is provided, each with
predominantly bunk beds. Rooms vary in size from 2 beds to
12. Four cabins have en-suite facilities. Two bed ensuite room
for people with disabilities. Wheelchair access to dining room
and multipurpose room. 13 rooms, maximum capacity 86 (plus
many camping sites available). Laundry.

120 seating capacity in the multipurpose room ideal for
weddings, conferences and event dinners, 86 in the dining
hall. Both areas can be used to enjoy meals or host a special
event. Paved BBQ area adjoining dining room, seating for 50.
Enjoy our country style meals or choose your gourmet chef, by
contracting the caterer of your choice. Room available for a

Hamilton Art Gallery is famous for its outstanding collections
of fine and decorative arts including the fabulous Shaw
Bequest. Silver, glass and porcelain, oriental ceramics,
furniture, paintings and prints, including Australian art, are
featured in six modern galleries.
The Gallery’s rare collection of 18th century paintings by
Paul Sandby, known as ‘The Father of English Watercolour’,
is unrivalled in Australia and beautifully displayed in a recreation of an English drawing room.
The collection of Chinese and Japanese ceramics is without
parallel among Australia’s regional galleries and features
works from Neolithic times till the present.
The Gallery now holds over 8000 objects and the permanent
collection is complemented with a program that features
some of the finest temporary exhibitions touring Australia.

Located on the eastern side of town, but still within the
town’s boundary, the Hamilton Golf Club offers a quiet
location with off street parking.
Bar trading hours from 4 pm each day (not open Sunday).

The Hamilton Golf Club also has available a BBQ set in a semi
enclosed Rotunda adjacent to the practice putting green. This
area is very popular in summer, as you can sit on the grass

week with a maximum capacity of 140 seated individuals.

Considerable amounts of hard-surfaced open space areas with
extensive drainage. The area is well serviced by over 40 multipowered heads with RCD devices. The three separate toilet blocks at
the showgrounds are easily accessible to patrons.
Venue Description
Hamilton Showgrounds is a 12 hectare multi-purpose venue with
large secure indoor areas, open spaces, ovals and exhibition facilities.
Designed to facilitate large field days and associated crowds, the
Hamilton Showgrounds has excellent toilet and power facilities,
as well as extensive parking areas. Equipment such as trestles and
seating is available for hire.
The Hamilton Showgrounds can cater for small, medium or
large crowds, and is an ideal venue for product launches, trade
shows, livestock sales, displays, information days, conferences and
conventions.
There are four access points to the showgrounds, including the main
entrance and three other gates on the grounds’ perimeter. The
main entrance is located on Horner St, with ticket box and security
personnel room.

art studio.
The art studio is a large open area with fantastic lighting,

Venue Description
The Hamilton and Alexandra College is a co-educational
day and boarding school dating back to 1871. Set in
beautiful grounds the school’s new, state of the art Music
and Performing Arts Centre (MPAC) is an outstanding venue
which includes a 468 seat traditional theatre auditorium,
and a hall space for conferences with seating for 320 guests
or catered functions for 200 guests using the attached
commercial kitchen facilities. The venue also offers multiple
smaller rooms for varied uses.

Simons Auditorium
The Simons Auditorium has a fixed seating capacity for 468
people with an additional 50 loose seats being able to be
provided in the orchestra pit area on request. A large stage
area provides ample space for musical performances or
large scale drama productions (no fly tower available). Male
and Female dressing rooms and separate standby/warm-up
rooms are easily accessible from side and rear of stage. The
auditorium stage is also directly accessible from the loading
dock on the side of the building.
Tim Murray Room
Seating can be provided for up to 320 guests with full
conferencing facilities including lectern, PA and data
projection. Tables and chairs can be provided for a catered
function for up to 200 individuals with crockery, cutlery,
glassware all being available for up to 200 people. Any
catering requirements can be provided through our preferred
catering company, Alliance Catering, using the commercial
kitchen facilities attached to the room.

Our corporate boardroom is a purpose built room with a set
boardroom table to accommodate 14 people. The boardroom
has video conference facilities and a digital whiteboard,
perfect for board meetings and discussion groups. Our
computer training room is equipped with five PC’s and is
fully networked with data projector, whiteboard, printer and
internet access.
We also have data projectors, teleconferencing and video
conferencing equipment that can be used throughout the
Centre.
Boardroom
Our state of the art Centre offers a suite of venues catering
for a range of purposes including lectures, presentations,
meetings and conferences. There is a fully-appointed, 106
seat auditorium, two seminar rooms that can be used as
separate spaces or opened up to create one large space, a
small meeting room and a foyer ideal for registration, tea
breaks and meals.
U-Shape
The WDHS Conference and Education Centre offers the
perfect environment for any meeting, conference, function
or social event.
Our auditorium has touch-screen technology which allows
for the use of PC’s, video conferencing, slide projectors,
TV, VCR, CDs, cassettes and radio. Presentations in the
auditorium can be simultaneously viewed in both seminar
rooms and recorded. The sound and lighting are all operated
by the same touch screen and, along with the acoustics, are
excellent.
