South State Street Learn how to make a quick and delicious living foods version of a gluten-free vegan Fettuccine Alfredo using zucchini and macadamia nuts. There will also be a Q&A session regarding the benefits of a living foods diet. Rob Hall was trained in the art of raw food preparation at the famous Juliano’s Raw (www.planetraw. com) in Santa Monica, CA, and has worked as a live foods chef in restaurants in California and Oregon. He also co-owned and operated the highly successful Laughing Buddha Kombucha Tea business in Eugene, OR before relocating to California in 2007. South State Street Spend an evening on a fun-filled culinary adventure learning to cook and create with others. Drawing from the content of her cookbook, “Two Hearts, Four Hands, Cooking Together,” Mendocino chef and author Sulin Bell will demonstrate how preparing a meal with a friend, spouse, loved one, or even a housemate builds camaraderie, deepens relationships, cuts cooking time in half and is lots of fun! Live Life Well - Lunch & Learn Series Plant Based Meals Cooking with Chef Austin Tuesday, September 27 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. FREE CLASS UVMC 275 Hospital Drive A plant-based diet can have a variety of health benefits, including weight management, lower cholesterol, and reduced risk of cancer and diabetes…to name a few! Join us for some great recipes, demos, and samples from Chef Austin. With class participants, Sulin will make No-bake Cashew Crème Pie, and discuss how cooking together fosters better health on many levels, including offering a collaborative creative experience. Tips and techniques for a variety of eclectic meals to suit many occasions will also be shared. This class is perfect for single folks living alone or with housemates, for couples, families, friends -inexperienced and experienced cooks alike.
